These guys are cheating, no good for nothing, rotten, consumer unfriendly (choosing my next word carefully!) ********!!!! In fact my experince with Vodaphone was so bad that I vow never to use them again and to encourage all my friends not to use them as well!
The saga begins: I signed up for a vodaphone one up front payment and then pay for you calls as you use the phone! My plan was to only use the free minutes nad have the phone for my wife for emergencies!
The useless saleman inputted my address wrongly on my contract! So we never heard from them! We were never billed so I assumed we never incurred call costs above the free minute allowance!
Since they had the wrong address they never contacted me! Well they tried but mail was always returned ADDRESSEE UNKNOWN! Not a problem you would think as they ask for two address on the application form for an account/phone! So no worries - they have a back up address with my work place!
The problem was that they never tried to contaact me a that address during the contract year! In fact it was a year and a half later when I got my first message asking me to please ring them! which I did.
" you owe us £XX.XX we want our money!"
In a state of shock and disbelief my reply was to ask them to send me a bill explaining the charges! I explaine dI had since moved and they informed me that all mail has been returned to them! I asked why they hadn't contacted me on my work address sooner? A question which to this day they have declined to answer.
No news from vodafone for a week or two! I ring them and they say they are dealing with my account! But then a letter arrives stating that I have been refered to the debt recoverers!
With an even bigger bee in my bonnett off I stormed to vodafone where I purchased the phone! Where I spoke to the most senior staff member as the manager is never there! He was sympathetic but we achieved nothing!
I finally contacted the debt recovery people myself to find they were planning to take me to court! I asked why the heck they had never contacted me to ask for payment! Well yep, you guessed it, vodafone gave them the worng details not once but twice!
Its sorted now, no thanks to vodafone!
I originally went to Vodaphone because of the reputation but frankly they were worse than useless and my advise is to stick well clear of them altogether! On a lighter note when dealing with vodaphone enquiries helpline then were unaware of the number change for Portsmouth last year! they were unable to give me correct telephone numbers for that region! And this ia componay psecialising in the telecommunications field!

careful mate, your choice of words can be dangerous.. but, when are these people going to learn that customers will always be right! bloody money-suckers!
Advantages: Good range, able to offer you good customer care and change talk plans top up e.t.c because they are part of Vodafone. Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive for Accesories.
