I've been with Vodafone for eight years now and I consider Vodafone being one of the exeptions when it comes to service providers. Majority of service providers are absolutely appalling and we come across problems with them more or less all the time, however I would recommend Vodafone to anyone.
Having had 6 phones from them, currently a Sony Ericcson, on every occassion when I have come to upgrade I have looked around at what deals are available to me, however, when I have found a good deal and I have contacted to Vodafone to either terminate or see what they have on offer, they have always come up trumps and give me a better deal than what I have been offered by other service providers.
This particular phone that is with Vodafone is my personal phone and I am on a tarriff whereby I pay £30 per month and I have two hundred free minutes anytime and five hundred free text messages. As a text a lot they do come in useful however I do find that around about the 20th of every month my free texts have been used and I have to start pying 12p per text which can become costly when you are going over amonth by about three hundred texts. The only downfall is if you do have spare texts available they don't carry these over to next month however with call credit if you have free minutes available they do transfer them over up to three months and then wipe the slate clean and start again.
Upon enquiring unfortunately to upgrade my tariff to get in the region of 1000 free texts it is an extra £40 per month, however I am due for upgrade soon so thats something that I may be able to negotiate with them.
When upgrading with Vodafone, more or less they give you the option of the latest models free of charge or a very small surcharge if they are the very top of the range phones. They normally give you so many months free sky tv if you are on a 3G phone and free insurance for 3 months which can be cancelled thereafter if you don't want to keep it. Contracts normally ranges from 12 months 18 months depending on what phone you opt for.
They are many payment options that are available to customers including payment by credit or debit card, cheque, direct debit etc etc. The only problem I have ever had was recently I had problems with my bank and the direct debit didn'y go through, instead of contacting me to try and obtain payment they just barred my phone. I contacted the customer service department and they were extremely helpful and advised that I should have had a call or text message to say that payment hadn't been received. Having made a debit card payment over the phone my ohone was switched back on within seconds and they couldn't be more aplogetic.
One of the best service providers around. Well done Vodafone!
