I am on my second VW and absolutely love the cars. The quality is brilliant and I love driving them. I have had very few problems with my cars, however, I have found the service I have received from the actual dealerships to be very poor.
Firstly, my normal dealer seemed unwilling to arrange for me to test drive the car I was interested in, and actually told me I would have to put down a deposit of £500 for them to order one in for me to drive, and if I didn't like it then my deposit would be refunded! There seems little point in that! In the end I telephoned VW UK who put me in touch with a garage who DID have a demonstrator for the car I was interested in and I bought the car through them.
However, I have to return to the other garage for servicing and aftersales as it is my nearest branch. I have had problems ranging from an oil service not being done when it should have been, to being sent away with faulty brake lights, having been told that they were fixed.
I have followed up the problems with the head office, who have been extremely helpful, and have actually offered me a free 10,000 mile service to make up for the problems, but it remains to be seen whether the customer service will improve as a result of my complaints.
