CAB Volunteering - an opportunity for everyone

Advantages So much to gain, while helping many others
Disadvantages "so called volunteers don't get paid" (Homer Simpson)
I have been volunteering for over four years. Which is not bad, considering I originally only intended to stay for a few weeks.
I work with the Citizens Advice Bureau, which is a much overlooked volunteering opportunity. Yet it is perfect for anyone who can commit from half a day each week to, almost, a full-time job.Of course, everythings of CAB as having only advisers. This is not the case. Yes, advisers do make up most of the workforce. But there are many other opportunities available.
You can also be a receptionist, administrative assistant, social policy campaigner, report writer, or a trustee. Trustees are volunteers too - they are similar to a board of directors. So, with volunteers in practically every role (except managers) there is sure to be a place for everyone.
So why not give it a go...?

A good review, although it would be useful to learn more about what you actually do! In my spare time (now, that's a joke, as it takes up most of my life) I'm a trustee of a self-injury charity - very rewarding, but a lot of hard work and stress!
