Volvo 340 DL 1.4 Hatchback The classic Volvo design, chunky but functional. The seating is comfortable and supportive whilst the driving position is excellent. All round visibility is quite good although the front headrests tend to get in the way when reversing. Steering is positive but not too sensitive which makes for more relaxed driving especially on long journeys. Mine is a 1988 model with over 100,000 miles on the clock and the engine seems good for another 100,000. With the spare wheel contained under the bonnet there is ample luggage space. Would I recommend one to a friend? Yes.

Advantages: Looks great, nippy for the engine size, economy good, big boot, tough. Disadvantages: 1.2 16v. Seat recline on three door is cack, Sun Roof pointless.
