I owned 2 new volvo 460 TD's from 1995 - 1997. I was in Germany at the time so was looking for an economical and reasonable speced car. For a cheap and affordable price I had a car that was everything that I had hoped for and above all was safe for my family to travel in. I have since gone back to Volvo and have recently purchased a V70T5, once smitten they say. Unfortunately they stopped making this car in 1997 when it was replaced by the S40 which I believe to be a much more inferior and more expensive car. It appears to have shrunk although is slightly better to look at. Fortunately you can still pick up a good bargain of a used Volvo 460. I strongly recommend the 1.9 TD and any of the special editions as these were very highly speced.

Hello! Nice to see a dedicated Volvo owner! You sure know your Volvo's. I would really love to hear more about your 460? handling, performance, problems, fuel economy etc (If you take a look at the ratings at end of this car opinion it may give you some idea of what info.
