I have had lots of different cars over the years & one of the best ones was a Volvo 460 si. This was the sports version of the 460. The 460 is the saloon version of the 440. I never new much about Volvo's & never thought I would own one but what a great car it was.
This car had all the Volvo safety features like SIPS (side impact protection system) ABS, airbag etc..
Then it had the high spec features like heated front seats, aircon, premium stereo system, PAS, E/W & the list goes on.
As far as used cars go, I really recommend the 460 as you really do get a lot of car for a small amount of money! Being a saloon car, it has the obvious boot, which is quite big, more so with the rear seats folded down, the interior is well layed out & quite roomy also. The 2.0 Litre I had was very economical producing 28-30MPG urban driving and a lot more on motorway driving. The 2.0 Litre is only an insurance group 9 which is very surprising because it is a very fast car. It just shows that insurance companies take the whole safety issue seriously and this means more than just engine size. The 1.8 Litre version is obviously cheaper to run, insure etc but i recommend the 2.0 Litre for that little bit more....
A very good used car to buy at very low prices....my opinion of Volvos has changed forever!

golly gosh how did you manage such a high mpg from your 2.0? Similar to mine but not fully loaded up.. Have a look at my 440 review - your op is good but needs a lot more information. Welcome to Ciao - have fun on here. Nar
