A large volvo 850 saloon, 2 litre engine, used my traffic and undercover police, I picked up the keys, stepped inside, the first thing you notice is how comfortable it is, with lots of room inside, loads of legroom, headroom, I put the key in and turn it, you hear a loud roar from the engine, and think this could be fun, pulling away I became disappointed, I have seen rolling road graphs and know the high power is in the higher revs but the volvo 850 I found hugely disappointing.
Comfortable, true luxory and you know your going to be safe but I couldn't help but be disappointed, but there was no raw power there I know this may sound stupid because yes it can wheel spin at 70mph and give bmw's and porsches a run for their money.
Fuel economny is as most cars, parts can get expensive, but I think it's all worth it knowing your kids are safe.
I know someone who had a Volvo 850 like mine, and on the motorway, hit a porsche boxter, this spun the boxter sideways and the volvo continued to push it down the road, before applying the brakes. When the police arrived on scene, the volvo was used to move the boxter to the hard shoulder, and the only damage the volvo recieved was a broken headlight. The Porsche was a right off.
This is a similar story as mine, on a motorway slip road, waiting to enter a roundabout, a Vauxhall Cavalier doing about 40mph doesn't notice I have stopped, with cars infront of me there is nothing I can do but release the brakes and hope I'm not pushed to the car infront, luckily there was quite abit of distance, the Cavalier was a right off, damage included a burst radiator, and the damage to my volvo? It scratched my back bumper! I think that tells you all you need to know about this tank of a car

Advantages: Cheap to buy, space, comfort, performance, ability and what a q car. Disadvantages: Little on the thirsty side but this is far outweighed by it's advantages.

Review of Volvo 850
Advantages: You can burn off a Porsche 911, or load it up for a summer camping trip, either way a very useable car! Disadvantages: Some problems on some models are possible, eg Turbocharger can suffer from severe driving.

Review of Volvo 850
Advantages: Reliable, cheap on fuel and great fun with the carrying capacity of a removal van! Disadvantages: None, except perhaps getting a little old in the tooth!
