The inside of this car is a lovely place to be, whether in sun or rain. The inside of this car is a lovely place to be, whether in sun or rain. The leather seats are very soft and comfortable and fully heated (both bottom and back) making them especially welcome in winter. The sound system which came with my model included surround sound speakers which were truely excellent for a factory fitted system with plenty of bass and treble. I was slightly disappointed by the fact the factory head unit was unable to read mp3 cds however but this is only a minor point. On entering the car, the first thing you notice is how everything has been built to such a high standard and with safety in mind. The doors alone must weigh around 30-40kg each.
The ride quality of the car is good although there are rattles and squeaks from time to time which I was slightly disappointed with. The car feels well planted on the road and accellerates well up to any speed necessary on our roads. The accelleration is so good in fact that when kicking down the front wheels often spin. This was rectified by fitting expensive tyres to the front wheels. On reflection, I would have spent the extra on buying the T5 version of the car as this returns roughly the same MPG rating but it also around 50 horsepower more powerful.
Servicing costs as expected were very high but on a car like this it is no surprise. One thing which I was not expecting however was the fuel consumption, on average I get around 23MPG combined but this can fall to around 20MPG if I accellerate hard during the journey. On similarly powered engines (~200HP) the MPG returned is much better.
I had to get used to the dimensions of the vehicle when I first got it as although it is great to have so much legroom in both back and front, the trade-off is the car is very long and wide and difficult to park around town. Also, to get it into the garage the wingmirrors have to be folded in or it physically will not fit.
Overall I am very happy with the car as it looks smart, is adequately powered and is great in winter or with the top down in summer. The only thing I would have liked is a slightly larger boot as with the roof down there really is no room for anything else.
Advantages: gorgeous, sophisticated, solid, safety features Disadvantages: heavy handling
...cabriolet for a second hand Volvo that I have been lusting after for a while, I have been very satisfied.
I have a silver version with a blue hood that is just gorgeous and is definitely a head turner. It feels very solid and the car doesn't wobble when I shut the door (definite change from the Renault!). Very smooth indeed to drive (have to strain hard to hear your gear changes) although handling not as nifty as I would have expected. Turbo kicks ... ...means that you think you are doing 70 on the motorway and, when you glance at the speedo, you are doing signficantly (and I mean significantly) more.......something to adjust to!
My stereo system comprises radio, tape and CD with 6 CD multichanger in the boot, which is great. Sound is fantastic and you have the option of surround sound which is mind blowing!
Roof action is superb and rather classy - takes about 25 seconds and local pets seem fascinated! ...

Its a beautiful machine, but i doubt many people could pull off a car with this much class. We had one of these in a few weeks back, surprised someone in my area could afford one of these. I cant remember exactly what the problem was, there was some rattling she wanted us to look at, i think it was the dash and the roof. I guess its not that expensive considering all the stuff you get with it; Electric and Heated mirrors, Electric Windows, Metallic paint comes as standard instead of an addition few hundred quid, Leather Seats, Air Conditioning etc.. Its not really good at turning though, and it shakes a bit. The design is stylish but the interiors a bit dated. The C70 is smooth i guess. Its not really a family car though, could you really imagine a woman driving around with 2 kids in the back of one of these? The roof goes up and down ...
