I have purchase our Volvo S40 T4 to replace my S40 1.8i which I felt was a little underpowered. This you cannot say about the T4. The main reason for purchasing a T 4 is that you have the feeling of being safe in a classy looking car with the power of a sporty car - all in all you have everything. The leather upholstery and heated front seats are a must for the cold Scottish winters. There are two things I would like to see Volvo fitting to the T4 and that is a rear wiper and a heated front windscreen. The fuel consumption for the type of driving that I do is not brilliant about 22 - 25 mpg. The after sales service from Strathmore Motors in Perth, Scotland is excellent. I travel 120 miles to this garage although there is a Volvo dealership only 20 miles from my home.

In reply to comment from Louise. At the end of my opinion on the T4 I filled in the cost and thought that would be shown on my opinion. The cost of my T4 was just under £25,000, mpg on the short runs that I do is 22 - 25mpg. On a longer run you get about 28 - 34mpg. I am unsure of the top speed, the fastest I have done is 120 mph and chickened out but I felt that it would have gone quite a bit faster.

I like the 1.8 V40 okay so my hubby's has been modified. I have a 440 turbo. It is only a 1.7 but it does keep up with most two litre turbos! Like the opinion but feel you could have added more details ie mile to gallon, top speed, cost, comparing stats, etc. I look forward to reading more. Louise
