Advertising and salesmanship.. cannot be reconciled with the notion of independently determined desires, for their central function is to create desires - to bring into being wants that previously did not exist

Volvo's executive class saloon has a beautifully designed cabin, and the S80 is incredibly sophisticated, safe, subtle and sleek.
I like the way that Volvo has progressed from its boxy tank shaped like beginnings. It has improved a lot in the design in that it has inculcated curves which look aerodynamic and give it a much classier look. They have kept the cockpit like console in the front (imagine what a plane looks like) for easy navigating to swtiches. In this, it is sensible and functional yet stylish in a simple manner. There is a built in phone in the car which allows the driver to talk handsfree with a simple push of the button on the steering wheel. The finishing is as always of the highest quality and the leather is superb. The car is responsive to the driver, but the steering is slightly heavy. The car is very hardy and can withstand many knocks. The boot space is fantastic and can fit 4 golf bags with ease. It is also fully loaded with safety equipment including anti-whiplash headrests and front, side and curtain airbags. It's also fully secured with alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks.
The downside is that it drinks petrol like we drink water. The maintenance is high because of the parts as well. After 2 years, the petrol consumption is about 10km/litre. Petrol engines range from 140bhp which is a bit sluggish up to 272bhp which is rapid
However, I would still recommend this car because it is a smooth ride and very safe. Safety is always the most essential feature in the car. As the slogan goes, Volvo for life.
Verdict: Good.

cockpit console? phone? what is all that about? Please can you explain? I haven't got a "boxy" car to compare this with, so your description is almost meaningless to me - to be more helpful you need to explain better. PS - if you are hoping to earn money by writing all these reviews, please try a little harder to make the review helpful. Unless you are rated as "helpful" or above, you do not get paid (the pence you would earn) for this review. Is this your own car or your parents' car? A few more details as to costs, running costs, insurance group and car tax group; what you can expect and so forth would start to improve this discussion

Hello, I can see you are new around here, and we all do this when we start. A car is a very expensive item to buy and the more information you can give the public about it the better, like servicing costs, m.p.g., and really as much as you as an owner can tell people. Room inside, boot space, adaptability etc. Read a few on the site and when you get the hang of it, update your review and I shall gladly come back and rerate. Above all, don't be put off. Your written English is good. All you lack is experience and that can be obtained. Rachel X
