I do like cars and i have driven a few. I am unable to tell you exactly what is under the bonet other than the basic's, i.e. where the oil goes, water, and spark plugs are and how to change a wheel, however i must add that i have never done that to date.
Well you know what it's like, ive got a washing machine and i know how it works but i don't want to know everything about it so that i can fix it if it doesn't work...... well the same can be said of me and cars.
Firstly i would like to say that i absolutely love to drive and have since i was 17. I learnt to drive in a big car (granada) and have loved big cars since, along the way years ago i had a volvo 240 estate and that was a good car, i could throw it round and it would stick to the road like glue and was built to last and strong and that always stayed with me whilst i changed my cars as often as most people redecorated.
Then last may i decided it was time to settle down and for once i was givng the car more thought, to just looks and comfort. I went and looked at a few and none shouted out at me, then by accident the gentleman that was talking to me said, i have got one that has just come in but it is a used car and took me around to their valenting depot, and there she was......
She was a Volvo V40 estate. She was Dark Blue and yet she gleamed. She drives beautifully and you would not believe that the engine is a 1.6. She handles the road very well, corners very well wether on a tight corner or long one (there's that sticking like glue thing again)
She loves being let out into the open and can get up to some good speeds. The seats are reasonably comfortable for long journey's as back pain has always been a problem for me this is not a car that will aggrivate it. The same goes for the back seats as believe my son would let me know.
It is quite spacious in side, but one of the main reasons that i purchased this car was the boot. I have a dog, i like to do a lot of shopping and my boyfriend has six kids of his own.
So hence the need to buy a good reliable car that would be practical for all purposes.... I got alot more.
As cars goes she fits the bill brilliantly. She gets serviced regular as laid down in the manufacturer's book and has a full service history and other than the usual changes oil, filter etc there has been nothing surprising in way of maintanence of her.
The fixture's inside are pretty basic and serve their purpose, (i love a car that tells you what needs doing to it) it lets you know when to take it in for a service. The cup holders are great and so is the big Bin/ashtray at rear. The boot area can be covered as there is fabric rolled up under the shelf unit that can be pulled over and clipped into the brackets.
The only draw back regarding the features in this car is where they have placed the Electric Window button in the drivers door. When you rest your arm on the door you cover this button so have to lift all your arm up to change your window. This can be distracting because it not in place you would naturally think it would go, so have to look to check.
If you looking for a family car with big boot space, comfort, reliabilty, good driving capabilities and safety, this is the one i would go for anytime........
Would i change anything.....?
Only the EW button
