The v40 a good car when new but be warned it can bring you alot of problems if you intend to use it alot.
My dad bouught this estate in 1999 and when he first got it i thought it was great but when he decided it was time for a career change that when all of the problems started.
He used the car to take his toolbox and other things you need when your a plumber to work becuase it has a lot of boot space howver i would not recommend doing this becuase this car has a big boot in my opinion to go shopping and take luggage and family to the airport.
Since then He has had many problems with the engine brakes the exhaust and now it sounds like an old diesel.
I would not blame Volvo for the exhaust as this car has aged alot and now it is almost 10 years old i think that its time has come to go the junkyard.
TIP if you want to take tools and stuff to work dont use your estate. BUY A VAN it will save you alot of money and trouble.
