The cruise control option i have found an effective and admitedly relaxing driving innovation which is so well employed in the Volvo.
The dials are simplisitc and stylish with a geneorous yet unobtrusive spread across the dashboard. The braking system is extremely responsive and the A.B.S. translates the most agressive of emergency stops into a safe and steady deaceleration.
2.4 litres of Sweedish muscle combined with a low-pressure turbo makes even the automatic sound sporty as it pulls away in the snow from the blond bikini clad party girls after a late night at the Stockholm Savoy.

The Car
It really is worth upgrading your spec of the V70 for it can come with a flush cream leather interior and four electric windows. The alloys are also upgraded. The regular model however comes with a quite ample Dolby sound system including a sinlge 'disc in dash cd player' tape player and a kicking 100 watt amplifier.
A criticism would be that there is no middle seatbelt without request but there is a useful fold down child seat with a lapstrap. There are also two additional child seats that fold out in the boot, making it an ideal family car, fullfilling this criteria with its safety, accomodation and lonf distance comfort.
The crumple zone is significant and the car is also SIP (side impact protection) fitted. There are only two airbags but once again this number can be increased at purchase by request from the maunfacturer.
The central locking system is flawless and the alarm is piercing!
I Sicerely hope this is usefull and that it assists you in your purchase.
Advantages: So very likeable Disadvantages: Not completely excellent, but who's to know
...become a fan of the Volvo brand of late. The over all sense of
intelligence wrapped up in the beautiful bodies that Volvo now wrap
their cars in is exceedingly appealling. I explored a new V70 one day
and I decided that one day, if given the chance, I might actually part
with a lot of cash for one. I don't believe that Volvos are, as yet, of the same all encompasing excellence of BMWs but they are getting
closer and closer. They have a different ... ...respect - they earn it! So, the new V70. Such a fine example of the New Volvo that is rapidly emerging these days. It drives and stuff really rather well. It is super comfortable and rock solid too. They can be fast and fun. On top of that good value. ...

Advantages: BMW quality, Appeal, Looks Disadvantages: Not a load lugger, Pricey
I opted out of my company car scheme last year. Consequently, I spent a very long time trawling the market, looking to replace the company car that was about to be returned (A MB C-Class Estate).
My life style was still the same so was looking for a car I could do 'cruising' higher mileages in for work whilst providing me lots of luggage space for 'activity' holidays few times a year.
I looked at the following (in alpha order):
Alfa Romeo 156 2.4JTD Sportwagon
Audi A4 1.8TDi Estate
BMW 318 1.8i SE Touring
MB C220 Classic Estate
MG ZT-T+
Saab 9-3 2.0i Estate
VolvoV702.4 SE Estate (ex-demonstrator)
All of these cars are very competant. My main buying criteria were Drive, Equipment/Options, and Cost of ownership over 3 years - with a max £24k budget. As I was going to be taking out a personal loan (repaid by my car ...
