This our second V70R. The previous was reviewed by me when I was Fastmover(see above) This car is a 2004 model in Flash Green Metallic purchased from Riders of Plymouth in Feb.2004. Negotiated a very good deal when trading in my XC90T6SE Reliability has so far not been an issue.

The handling of this car is well, awesome! Adaptive chassis is stunning. Comfort mode is comfortable but very good road holding, Sport mode is firmer but still smooth. Advanced setting is phenomenal, car just grips and goes. Geartronic shift is quick and smooth. The brakes are amazing 4 pot Brembos. Hit these and the blood goes to the front of your eyes. Engine is a dream, bags of torque (in Auto mode car wants to be in 4th gear at 10mph) revs freely and has a satisfying sound. Tyres are Pirelli PZero Rosso and are very grippy, if possibly a bit expensive to replace. The tyres are very square shouldered and do not have an anti kerbing rib on them so the rims are a tad exposed to kerbing. Those alloy wheels are just so pretty.
Nothing that I have attempted in this car has fazed it in the slightest.
Usual plethora of 3 and 4 letter acronyms, ABS DSTC EBD etc and they all do the biz.
ICE is very good. No need to pay extra for an upgrade.
Bi-xenon headlights are a revelation.
Load capacity is more than adequate for our needs. Boot swallows three full size golf bags plus baggage easily.
Fuel consumption is very good for the size and power of car. Worst seen is 22mpg which include a lot of town driving. Mixed A roads and motorway average well over 25mpg even when pressing on a bit.
For anyone looking for a sporty family car this must be the ultimate.
Performance is superb. 0-60 in 6.7secs, 155mph top speed.
All the extras, traction Control,ABS, Electronic Climate Control,leather/alcantara.
I have owned this car for 2 years and it still amazes me. Comfort is great. Running costs are reasonable for the performance (25mpg)
Servicing is moderate.
Safety is superb,we were side swiped by an artic at 50mph and the car was still ...
