...i remember back to when i had my voodoo 3 3000. it was an awesome card, one of the best. it was quick and boasted a huge 16mb of memory ;-) overall its support was really good, with most games having a special 3dfx mode for the 3dfx range of cards, giving most games a signifcant speed boost and improved graphics. My voodoo 3 3000 also boasted a modded heatsync and fan, allowing me to overclock mine to speeds well beyond the factory settings, meaning i could get even more power out of the beast, much to the envy of my friends. but however, it came to my attention that cards cannot run at these kinds of speed all the time and it came the time when it gave up, and was replaced by a much never and up to date nvidia card. now 3dfx have been taken over by nvidia. but i still remember the days when the voodoo cards were all the rave. ahhh... Advantages: still good for games, cheap, double power

...The creative labs Voodoo 12Mb is the top of the range voodoo 2. What can i say about it. I am using it to play games such as unreal tournament, Quake 3, halflife, Deus Ex etc. I must say the graphics are superb,the clock speed as far as i know is only at 95Mhz but it still gives smoothe and good frame rates. It's very cheap now, probably pick up a second hand one for like £20 which is brilliant. Also the graphics card is compatible with an identicle voodoo 2. This means with a cable you could link one voodoo 2 to another and have almost twice the power, 2 voodoo 2's maybe £40. Giving you the power of a Voodoo 3 or better, good huh.... Read review

Advantages: Reliable, fast card for under £80, easy to overclock
Disadvantages: Getting a bit old in the tooth

...The Voodoo 3 2000 is at the budget end of the current Voodoo graphics cards, but although it is pretty cheap that isn’t to say it is nasty. With 143Mhz clock rate and 16Mb of RAM it performs admirably and quite satisfactorily with most games. If you are playing on-line then the connection and speed of your modem is far more important than the card, so buying something much more expensive will make only a little bit of difference. The Voodoo 3 2000 is also quite easy to overclock, with speeds of 155MHz possible un-cooled, and 180MHz with additional cooling. Programs such as the voodoo3overclocker from http://www.3dfiles.com/utility/voodoo3overclocker.shtml is easy to set up and use, making the card almost as good as a Voodoo 3 3000.... Read review
