I would just like to write a review on the Vuvuzela, which is a wonderful yet slightly annoying supposed musical instrument that is currently being used by many a football fan who are in the throes of suporting their team in that little known football tournament that is currently taking place in South Africa.
In terms of what it actually looks like, I would have to say that it is a bit of a cross between a clarinet and one of those old trumpet/ horn type set ups that we see in many medieval places. However in order to play it, all that you do is blow in one end (the smaller end of the two for those of you are not yet quite sure as to how to do it) and the noise that comes out of the other end is somewhat akin to a dead sheep playing the digderidoo. In fact, many people have actually in fact told me that in order to play this particular piece of equipemtn properly then you will need to blow in to it in pretty much the same way that you would have to do so in order to play the didgeridoo.Of course, all countries now have their own versions of this although to be quite honest with you I do not even know where they first came from. I am not going to bore you with the details here, because this is not really the purppose of writing this review. But anyway regardless of this, what we actually have to offer is a cheaper plastic version of what could be taken as being quite a high quality instrument. Painted white with the red cross of St George painted all over it, this item can be bought pretty much anywhere where there is football gear on sale at the moment. Supermarkets or sports shops; department stores and street corners, the list is endless.
In terms of the price of buying one of these, I cannot really comment on this as I have not really been paying much attention it it. Not having bought one as I see no need to deafen either myself or those around me, I also didn't really fancy following the trend of those people who have gone all out in order to get in to swing of things in the World Cup (and not really knowing if we will be out again when Germany play us tomorrow!). I am not saying to people don't go out and buy one at all as that is your choice, and if you do get one - blow it in my earhole, and you may not live to find out the result of this year's World Cup...

Quite a few English teams have banned them from their grounds. I can understand why as the noise can be annoying, although after watching the World Cup I started getting used to it.
