This is a fantastic product that everyhold should have. It's only £2.00 for a 250ml can and is available in all supermarkets and garages. It distinct blue and yellow metal can with a red top is easy to find amongst all the other products on display. To use you just remove the red lid and spray.
Here are some of the things my husband and I have used it for:-
1. Removing stickers and labels from glass and mirrors. I sometimes find that price tags and stickers can be awkward to remove without leaving a mark. However, I have now started using WD-40 to do the job for me. I just spray a little on to the sticker leave for a few moments and then remove the sticker easily as the solvents in WD 40 cause the adhesive to lose its stickiness.
2. Removing grease and grime from hands. When my husband has been working on the car and his hands are covered in greasy and black with grime he just spray some WD-40 on to his hands rubs them together and then uses a paper towel to wipe off and then washes his hands with soap and water. The grease and grime wash off straight away. 3. Removing crayon from walls. Having grandchildren there have been occasions when crayon marks have appeared on the odd wall or bit of furniture. I just simply spray a bit of WD-40 on to the mark and then with a cloth wipe away. However, I have not tried this on wallpaper although it is supposed to have the same effect.
4. Removing oil stains from the drive. My husband used WD-40 to remove a small oil spot from the drive by spraying the area and then hosing it down with water.
5. Getting rid of thistles. I sometimes get huge thistles growing in the garden and I was told by a neighbour some years ago that if I sprayed them with WD-40 they would wither and die. I have tried this on a number of occasions and it definitely has an effect unfortunately, they grow back again.
6. Preventing a puppy chewing cables. Last year I got a puppy who was forever chewing things and I was concerned that she would chew the telephone and TV cables so I sprayed some WD-40 on to a cloth and then wiped the cables with it. There was no chewing as dogs are supposed to hate the smell of WD-40.
Now this tip I haven't tried but I thought I would pass it on as it's every parents nightmare :- chewing gum in a child's hair. Apparently if you spray the gummed up hair with WD-40 the gum will comb out with ease. Obviously, great care needs to be taken to avoid contact with the child's eyes and it must be done in a ventilated area.
Summary: Great product for loads of uses.
