Wow The Laminator has now gone down in price to £9.87
I found the WHSmith A4 Laminator for just £14.99 and because we had basic needs felt this would be efficient enough for the job in hand which it was for a while at least. It is very stylish in looks and nice and compact when placed on the desk. I also bought 50 A4 pouches at the same time also from WHSmith and these cost £7.99 which is really expensive because you can get 250 A4 pouches on the internet for under £5
You do have to be careful because small bubbles often appear but you can prick these with a needle and it is ok. If you wrinkle the laminate then give up and start again.
Where I work we change the menu on a monthly basis to ensure in season local food is used as much as possible. By the end of the week the menus are looking tired, crumpled and frayed at the edges so my boss come up with the bright idea of purchasing a laminator and then we could store the menus until that season came around again and the same food was available. Reckons it will save us loads of work in the long run and save him loads of money on the printing and time as well.
The unit heated up quickly and it took hardly any time to get the menus put into the pouches and ready for sealing. On using the laminator it only took a few seconds for the pouches to seal so it was very time efficient.
We have progressed from just laminating the menus to now include business cards. Notes for the guest bathrooms , notes in the kitchens such as fire hazard warning. The uses for a laminator are endless and every home and work place needs one because once you have used one you will wonder how you managed without one before.
You do need to be careful as bubbles often appear but if you use a needle these are easy to pop. If you get a sheet wrinkled then you need to start from scratch again as you cant get rid of them.
The laminator itself is very robust and so simple to use compared to the more expensive models and I have now purchased it from work for my home to seal all my photos and documents. It is more suited to home use as we now need a more professional model at work due to the amount of paperwork that my boss has now decided to laminate and because of all the grease from the kitchens.
