This game only has 5 modes which is shocking and this is what it is Single, Tag Team, Hardcore, KO Mode and Triple Threat. So i'm going to tell you about them.
Single - well you already know what that is but very short.
Tag ... ...never happen in a real WWE match.
But what i do like in a wrestling game is the choice of modes the fighting I like having a pretty long match. But with the Wii version of this the matches usually lasts under 5 and 3 minutes, the entrance's last longer then the time your wrestling you can tell that this was mostly made for multiplayer.

This game only has 5 modes which is shocking and this is what it is Single, Tag Team, Hardcore, KO Mode and Triple Threat. So i'm going to tell you about them.
Single - well you already know what that is but very short. Tag Team - this was so easy to win all that happens you lay your finisher on your opponent the tag team partner will break up the pin throw them out of the ring you pin your opponent 1,2,3 you have win or the computer has. Hardcore - what is so hardcore on this all it has is steel chairs and its just boring i can't even say its hardcore. KO Mode - all you have to do is KO your opponent simple Triple Threat - fight three wrestlers in the ring
This game also features King of Ring and Beat The Clock Match will also Smackdown vs Raw Tournament and Road to Wrestlemaina.
The game controls lack their is just not much they have to offer but mainly lifts like power bombs it really just feels like your fighting the same match over and over. I found at least one wrestler i enjoyed playing as and that was Rey Mysterio is finisher the is good with the Wii controls. The taunt system is also a good idea to have in this.
But you could play as anyone in this game I mean anyone and have a diva fight a guy like The Great Khali and the diva would beat him in under 4 minutes. This makes the game unrealistic in this would never happen in a real WWE match.
But what i do like in a wrestling game is the choice of modes the fighting I like having a pretty long match. But with the Wii version of this the matches usually lasts under 5 and 3 minutes, the entrance's last longer then the time your wrestling you can tell that this was mostly made for multiplayer.
Main Event mode is the main game 24/7 mode has been removed and Main Event mode sees you fighting on Raw or Smackdown you even fight on ECW. Now the crazy thing on this game is the Pay Per Views you will end up fighting at No Mercy on here weekly but in the real WWE this event only happens once a year This happens on countless times. Willam Regal you will fight over and over as he sends you messages to fight him this gets boring as it happens all the time which makes you think GOD I WISH I COULD BLOCK HIM FROM THE GAME. This gets boring and brings the game down to shame it's just really dull. The game also features divas in the Main Event mode after so long they will get closer to you and see you down the ring well this does not happen it's pointless having divas in that mode. Main Event mode features no cut scenes at all.
This is another problem I have suffered with playing this making a wrestler and creating the entrance you can not preview them. Take this right you looking in the entrance section and it says entrance 1, entrance 2 so OK i can not preview them i don't know if the player is going to come out looking like an idiot. The only way to actually see the entrance is to leave the create a entrance mode and start playing a match just to see it that would take ages. It makes it look that this was rushed.
The commentary is abysmal a lot of the things are repeated and you will have herd most of it from the previous games. The commentary is not needed as the the matches are way to short it just makes the game even more bad. The only good thing about the commentary is that Joey Styles adds some excitement to it.
It just feels like this game wasn't worked on as good as it could of been made this is no where as good as Day Of Reckoning. What should been used on this game is the classic controller we would of got a better game out of it but no we get the Wii controls which does not even suit the game and gives us limited moves.
The game is so easy it really does not matter what difficulty level you have on it all feels the same never changes at all.
Closing Comments: Avoid this game it's just bad as I said the modes are very limited only 5 and hardcore only has 2 Steel Chairs why no more weapons I will never know. If you want a realistic WWE game then play the PS3, XBOX 360 or PSP version. I played the DS version thats bad to it's like playing Rock Paper Scissors. I would not waste your money on it I paid £34.99 for it and I was clearly ripped off so beware cause THQ are trying to rob people with this piece of trash of a game.
Good Points - Graphics - Arena's (they do look good) - Taunts - Joey Style's gives some exciting commentary
Bad Points - Controls are limited - Main Event Mode is nothing like WWE should be - Matches are to short - Cannot watch your entrance during in create a character mode - Commentary gets annoying after you played it a few times its the same thing Jim Ross and Jerry The King Lawler's commentary sounds the same as last years - JBL sounds bad in the game he sounds like a redneck and sounds as he is bored doing the Smackdown commentary - Matches feel the same no matter what - Lack of moves - no hardcore only has steel chairs
Advantages: New controls system (the Wii Remote), taunts and wrestlers. Disadvantages: A little too easy in some parts, enjoyable for a few weeks - 1 1/2 months then gets a little boring.
WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2008 on the Wii is a disappointment, to say the least. I myself am a WWE fan, but this game does not exactly fill me with excitement. Firstly, there are only 5 match types, while the PS3 and Xbox etc. get many more including Hell in a Cell and Ironman. Also, the lack of weapons is appalling. Take the Hardcore matches, for example. WWE has plenty of weapons, such as tables, ladders etc., and THQ only puts steel chairs in the Wii ... ...brilliant, swinging the Wii remote to perform moves on your opponent, though they do get a little frustrating at times. The commentary, however, is a little repetetive, with certain phrases being repeated 2-3 times during matches. The taunts are good, but do get boring after a while. Story Mode is so-so, starting at newcomer rank and making your way up to main event level. It is a little too easy though. Tournaments are poor, King of the Ring is easy ...

Advantages: Great new controls Disadvantages: Limited match types
The popular SVR franchise arrives on Wii, and in my opinion they shouldn't have bothered. To be fair they worked hard on the gameplay and incorperating the new wii controls to make something pretty special, but the cost to introducing this was high. The game fails to deliver on so many levels, there are very few match types and you are restricted to how much you can actually do with your superstar. If you shop around you can get it cheap and the ... ...you will be. On a plus the career mode is satisfying and you get a real sense of achievement when you win the championship, but in order to unlock every unlockable superstar you have to complete career mode to many times. It's mildly ammusing and will keep you attention but it will leave you waiting to see what they do with the title next year. ...

Advantages: Good graphics, wiimote pciks up actions well and represents them on-screen Disadvantages: very tiring, especially when u have to shake the remote when u fall over. Bad controls
after reading a few reviews and watching in-game videos, i came to see that this game was the perfect game to buy. so i bought the game from play.com for £10. when it arrived, i opened it up and started to play it. But within the first 5minutes my wrist was already aching. the graphics were great and so were the litrtle extras the wii offered, but there were no obvious controls, like the ones you'd find on the PS3 or XBOX. 2-player mode builds up ... ...you intend. for egsample when i attempt to pick up a chair i find that no buttons will allow me to pick it up. but if i keep walking around it my player will automatically pick it up. this is not good when you do not want to pick up a weapon.. ...
