WWF/WWE in general

NOTE : Not really sure if it warranted it's own section so I've put in the general section for now. I've been watching wrestling for the last 11 years, but in all that time I'd never actually gone to a live WWE event. Most of their tour shows were based in England or Scotland, and often sold out long before I could even arrange any transport to the show. I really wanted to be able to see them come to Wales, but the last time they had done so was in December 1993, back in the days where Bret Hart, Ted Dibiase and Yokozuna were mainstays of the promotion. In 2003, I had to complete a dissertation in order to gain my degree. Now those of you that are familiar with me know that I have a passion for wrestling, Buffy and acting, so it made sense to me to use one of the former two, in conjunction with the latter, for my paper. I chose wrestling, and what follows is the result.. World Wrestling Entertainment or the WWE as it prefers to be known has been going since 1985 where it all began at Madison Square Garden, New York City. One man had a dream a dream to make Wrestliing a world wide business and that man is known as Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Here is the history of the WWWF/WWF/WWE for all you people who don't know much about the brilliant that is Sports entertainment. It all started in 1963 when Vincent j McMahon senior started a company called the Capitol Wrestling Corporation or CWC as it was known this together with the NWA were major wrestling factions back in there day. McMahon Senior decided the time had come to enter a new wrestling promotion and so started the WWWF (world wide wrestling federation) along with the original ' Nature boy' Buddy Rogers. The phrase "you will either love it or hate it" could have been invented for professional wrestling, especially the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), WWF as was. The federation lost a long running high court battle with the World Wildlife Fund over the moniker and so was forced to change its name. A move which certainly hasn't done it any harm. Just what is it about the WWE that provokes such feelings of "love" or "hatred"? Why are its fans (of which I proudly count myself one of) so loyal?
