When one gets to 55 especially if you are of the male persuasion then there is a strong possibility you might require the services of a product such as that I am going to review. The reason I guess is pretty obvious being that the unit is question is a nasal trimmer, but it is so much more, well not so much but it can do the ears too.
Operating from an AA battery the Wahl nose trimmer works either wet or dry, I have never had occasion to use it wet and I do not foresee such an occasion arising. In fact I can’t even think when one might use it wet, but hell the option is there for those more daring than I. In its dry mode it is quite silent in operation compared to some other similar type units I have tried. It basically is a more compact and precise version of those huge hair clipper things, which run of mains power. The fact that this little unit is only going to cut nasal hair and perhaps the odd stray straggler from the ear there isn’t much need for a full blown 13amp job. With about four intertwined little teeth it can easily gain entry into the nasal passage where it is designed to perform it perhaps not too popular job.
Since there is a substantial amount of dampness not wet in this passage the trimmed hairs tend to stick to the blades of the trimmer, and will require a tissue or the like to be wiped off, a little brush supplied would have helped this situation. Cutting the long hairs on the nose it not a necessity but it is good hygiene practice to do so, as it may also be for those straying ears offenders too.
I have found that the battery lasts a long time since you are not using it on a daily basis, maybe one a week or every fortnight should keep your snout looking nice a trim. There is obviously some noise from the unit whilst in operation but it is more of a purr than a full-blown hedge trimmer kind of noise. The Wahl will set you back around a fiver and if you feel you need to keep you nose as clean and fresh as the rest then this little dude is just up your street. A touch of oil on the blades once in a while won’t go amiss since any dampness left on the blades will or might cause rust and although the chances of it cutting you are slim, any chance of rust infecting a possible cut should be removed.
As I briefly mentioned on the usage of this if not great, but I have found that it does a great job even on those little nasal curlies that op up now and then. A mirror would be advantageous when using the Wahl since if you try to do it other wise you might well end up cock-eyed. All in all a neat little device which performs more than adequately.

I'm the same age as you except the opposite gender lol....and I'm finding I'm losing hair where it's supposed to be, and it's springing up in places where I didn't know it was possible to have hair.
