Walkers were founded in the 1880's by Henry Walker. The Walkers head quaters are in Leicester. Walkers sponser Leicester City Football Team. Gary Liniker used to play for the team and therefore he became the face of Walkers. The company employs over 4000 people in 15 different locations. According to Walkers' official website 11 million people will eat a Walkers product each day.
* Packaging * Walkers cheese and Onion crisps come in a blue bag. Blue is the "colour-code" for cheese and onion. ( Ready-Salty are red , salt and vinegar are green , prawn cocktail pink , chicken flavour are orange, and beef and onion are brown). On the packet it states that walkers have been working with the carbon trust since 2005. It also states that the amount of carbon emmissions calculated per 34.5g is 74g.
Walkers cheese and Onion crisps are blue in colour. At the top of the packet is the big walkers logo. This consists of , what I think is a "yellow" crisps with a walkers "label" wrapped round it. "Walkers" is written in large white capitals and the label is red. Beneath the logo are the words in black "cheese & Onion". Beneath the words are the the words in very small writing ; "flavour potato crisps".
To the left of the packet is a picture of sunseeds which have been made to look like a sun with the words in black capitals "SUNSEED".
The packet also states a shortened , "quick version" of the nutritional contents along with the percentage of how much a packet of cheese and onion crisps provides an adult in terms of "an adults guideline daily amount".
* Nutritional Values * Each 34.5g bag of cheese and onion crisps provide :
756 Kilo Joules 181 Calories 2.4g Protein 17.3g Carbohydrate (of which sugars 0.9g) 11,4g Fat (of which saturates 0.9g , of which mono-unsaturates 8.9g and of which polyunsaturates 1.0g) 1.4g Fibre 0.2g Sodium
* Nutritional Analysis * Walkers cheese and Onion crips are an ideal snacks. However crisps aren't considered to be healthy , these crips are made with sunseed oil which is consider healthier than any other cooking oil. The crips are not too high in calories which is good and the crisps contain a small amount of protein (essential for repair of muscles and energy) and fibre ( essential for digestion). Although the crisps appear to be high in fat at 11.4g per 34.5g packet , they are in fact quite low in saturated fat , which is the bad-for-the-heart-fat which we should try not to each too much of. The crisps are suitable for vegetarians.
* Ingredients Analysis * It appears to be that many of the ingredients included in the crisps are artificial. This therefore suggests that because the crips don't include many natural ingredients , then these crisps are very bad for us. They also containt colourings which are bad for us. However it does state on the packet that the colourings are not artificial.
* Taste * The crips have a very stong cheesy and very strong onion flavour , therefore I would not reccommend to those who dislike cheese and onions. However I must add, I am not a big lover of onions (I love cheese though! )however I do love these onion-flavoured crisps. The crips are crunchy but do not need a lot of chewing.
* Pack Sizes *
34.5g standard bags 25g "multipack" bags 50g (formerly 55g) "Big Eat" bags, produced primarily for the pub trade Cinema size bag sold in some cinemas, around 70g
* Price * Walkers's 34.5g packets are available to buy from Supermarkets , corner shops , pubs, vending machines , places such as Superdrug and other convenience stores. The average price of a bag of crisps is approximately 40-50p.
* Contact Details *
Consumer Services Department , Walkers Snack Foods LTD , PO BOX 23 , Leicester , LE4 8ZU United Kingdom
* Website * Walkers also have their own website at : www.walkers-crisps.co.uk
On the Walkers website ,it gives information about walkers and informs of recent updates. The website also runs regular competitions to win prizes such as football tickets.
* Since 2005 the crisps are cooked in 70% less fat :) *
* My Opinion * I love Walkers Cheese and Onion crips because they have a strong flavour unlike some other brands where the flavour is only minimum. There are a perfect amount of crips in a bag of crisps unlike the multi-packs where there is only a tiny. One thing I dislike about the crisps is that they give you bad "Onion breath" after eating them , therefore I do not recommend eating them before a hot date if your aim is to impress. The crips are available at a cheap price which is good , if I want a snack at the end of the day , but don't have much change left from my dinner money. I recommend Walkers Cheese and Onion Crisps to everyone who loves Cheese and Onion. I give the crisps a 9/10 ( not a 10 however much I love them , due to the smelly breath you get afterwardS! lol)
Advantages: taste lush, quite cheap Disadvantages: they have a bigger bag but less crisps
...of the pack is the walkers sign and logo. This is a picture I suppose of a crisp with a red banner accross the middle and the word "Walkers" in white writing in the middle of that. The other important piece of information provided on the front is the flavour. In this case...altogether now...cheese and onion.
On the back there is a special section on the left hand side explaining about the curry or chinese meal prize that could be inside. There is a ... ...gives you your nearest branch of resteraunt that will supply you with your free meal if you win.Not bad that really is it!
Next you'll find all the important information like nutritional information, best before date, how many grams are in the packet and an address like with most products, that you can send any questions, comments or complaints to about the crisps.
*So what is the nutritional information?*
According to this per packet of crisps there ...

...a sec ... shh yes Walkers cheese and onion crisps . Yum yum !
<> I am absolute starving so as we speak I'm ripping through a pack of cheese and onion walkers like a knife going through butter. I remember the good old days every time I used to go down the working mens club with my granddad and old man they used to aways buy me a packet of Walkers cheese and onion and I was sat there as happy as a pig and Pooh with a huge cheesy grin ... ...there who hasn't heard of Walkers Cheese and onion where have you been and you deserve to be hung up by the curlies and have people take photos of you.
I have been having these crisps ever since i was a nipper in pampers and although I can't remember the taste of them at that time as i've grown up I have noticed that you seem to get less and less in the packet and the crisps sort of lost its nice cheesy taste.
I think since they have changed the ...

Advantages: great taste, one of the most popular flavours of crisps Disadvantages: Leaves breath smells cheesy with a hint of onion.
Walkers Cheese & Onion Crisps are possibly one of the nicest flavours of crisps going although until recently I couldn’t stand to smell them let alone eat them. I’m not a great lover of onion however since I tasted cheese and onion crisps without realising it, I have not looked back. Walkers cheese and onion are available for almost every super market, post office or grocery store as they are one of the most popular flavours of crisps. They are reasonably ... ...hint of onion. With all Walkers crisps, the flavour is nice and strong down to the last crisp. The strong flavour is nice for the person eating them although it is not so nice for other around you as the crisps make your breath smell.
A typical 25g bag of walkers cheese and onion crisps look quite big on the outside of the pack however once opened, the bag is only half full with crisps. The amount of crisps supplied is enough for a snack however ...

Advantages: Tasty and satisfying. Disadvantages: Fattening.
Walkers the king of all crisps, well in my opinion. Cheese and onion have long been a favourite of mind and have held a long term place in second place on my all time favourite crisps, behind smoky bacon, but this Christmas they have been demoted down to third place as Turkey and Paxo stuffing claimed the top spot. Enough of my top ten crisp flavours, I wonder if there is a category on CIAO for that, and back to the op in hand about cheese and onion ... ...famous red, yellow and white walkers logo in the middle of the packet taking up the top section of the bag. Underneath this is the particular flavour in white writing and below that a picture of several crisps and a logo stating that there is quality and freshness. Turning the packet over, the back is white and split into two halves. On the left hand side are three small pictures showing a brief story of how the crisps are made, there is not a great ...

Advantages: Great taste, good packet. Disadvantages: None.
Walkers crisps are the original and one of the best in my opinion. The crisps are a good size and cut from good potatoes, it is very rare to find a bad crisp in your bag and this is great as I don't have to particularly worry about paying much attention when delving in to the bag and wolfing down a whole packet in 2 minutes flat!
The crisps come in a foil bag (for freshness) with blue colouring (for cheese & onion) and the familiar Walkers logo ... ...potatoes used and information on Walkers themselves. The bag is very informative and for the purposes of reviewing I had a good old read of the changes that have been made in recent years (less fat and better oil etc) and was astounded by the sheer amount of information that they feel necessary to print.
Once the packet is opened I am met with a smell of cheese & onion instantly and it's lovely and strong. The crisps are deliciously crunchy and ...

Walkers has always has the best tasting crisps, and these are no exception to this!
By the time Walker?scrisps usually get to you in every pack there is usually at least one crisp that is either black (from being burnt) or green! But squares are an exception to this as they get to you in perfect condition no nasty black or green bits!
But although they are called squares, I rarely find a square crisp! Most are usually curled up or broken off, but the curled over ones are my favourite, so I can?t complain about them!
Walker?sCheese and Onion squares are not too cheesy either unlike McVitie?s Mini Cheddars and they have just enough flavouring unlike the normal walkerscheese and onioncrisps! You can smell the nice cheesy aroma as soon as you open the packet, and the taste is nicer!
Squares come in four different flavours ...
Advantages: taste, crunch Disadvantages: they are square
Walkers, the king among crisps if I?m not mistaken. Walkers, like most snack food manufacturers do from time to time, have launched a new product which is at first simply novelty value. When I saw the ?dobby the house elf? face of Gary Lineker advertising these I just had to give them a try. I am referring to of course Walker?s squares- cheese and onion flavour!
The packet is bright yellow with a great big green start in the middle with the word ?SQUARE? written on in large, funky writing. There is also of course the Walkers logo in the top left corner representing unmatchable quality. Now I have a lot of respect for Gary Lineker so I also assumed his taste in food products would be good. As I opened the bag I could smells the cheese and onion and the aroma had me drooling. I picked up one of these square shaped ?doo daas?. To me it ...
