Each year, the packaging changes slightly, probably creating future antiques to be seen on Bargain Hunt 2054. I cannot remember when Walkers first produced this flavour but it has certainly been around for the past three festive seasons. Although this is useless, my first taste of Turkey and Stuffing crisps came courtesy of Riley's crisps way back in the late 80's.
Packaging ---------------
Distinctive on the shelf, being two tone compared to Walkers usual single block of colour on the packets. Deep Navy blue dominates the packet with patches of red and a bauble in the bottom right containing a small advert for Paxo stuffing. Oh, they have also tried to put decorations around the packet to symbolise flashing fairy lights. Hmm, very festive!
Aroma ---------
Distinct Chicken hits the nostrils first. But, hang on, Jeremy is missing, I mean, Mr Paxo. WHERE IS ME STUFFING? Sniff a little more, and lo and behold, still no detection of even a little fragment of stuffing.
Contents -------------
Golden shards of fried potato covered in glistening granules of flavour. But then one has to ask a question.
Are they pulling the turkey over our eyes?
I have conducted my own unscientific experiment. I had a packet of these, swilled water around the ol' mush to cleanse the pallette, then devoured a packet of Chicken flavour crisps. Result, one confused and cheesed off Ciaoer. I have to admit that the two flavours are very, very similar. And like the Great British Dinner range, with the Beef and Pud flavour, no hint of the secondary flavour. (Stuffing in this case)
Value --------
You may be unfortunate enough to visit one of the large supers and pay normal Walkers rate of around 35p for this flavour. Then again, you may be slightly more fortunate to live near a discount retailer such as B&M or Home Bargains and only fork out a couple of shillings (10p in new money!)
Crisp or Soft? -------------------
To conclude, Walkers normal standards regarding quality are more than matched. Unfortunately, it is another attempt at cashing in with a revamp of a popular flavour. My tastebuds may be neglected, and may not pick up certain flavours, but I LOVE Paxo by the boxload and can sniff out stuffing at twenty paces. A distinct lack of stuffing was the final verdict.
I adore Walkers crisps as anyone who has read my op on their Great British Dinner range will see. But I for one am glad this arrives as often as a large credit card bill. Annually!
A nice alternative to plain or the nations favourite in Cheese and Onion, but not one to go mad over. Thankfully, only around as long as the tinsel on the tree. As the eat almost anything, give the souped up chicken to the chickens!
Thanks very much for reading, peace and goodwill to all during the festive season!
Advantages: They are crisps what more do you want Disadvantages: Possibly seasonal
...as the chicken crisps that Walkers make. They are lovely pale yellow in colour and there is no sign of artificial powdery flavourings (is that good or bad I wonder)
They taste yummy. There is an initial taste of mild sage and onion and a real aftertaste of turkey and stuffing. I have to admit I was expecting them to taste like chicken, lol. (Why does everything weird taste like chicken?) My top tip for these would be to put them in a bowl and pop ... ...type movie and pick at them…Mmmmm.
Anyway…these cost me 40p but generally walkers crisp are cheaper…well anywhere really, but you might have to be quick to catch these as I don’t expect to see them much after Christmas.
Run, run, run to the shops, ;o)

...touch. As always the Walkers logo is in a huge red flash and can be spotted easily from the other side of the shop. You are also given all the contact info you could want including the website. As with the other in this range, the cross brand, i.e. Paxo logo is also clearly visible.
I also think the Merry Crispmas line is quite clever - maybe that makes me sad, but it is catchy, and it does make you think of the season.
Opening the bag ands sticking ... ...every bite.
As all Walkers crisps seem to be they are evenly cooked to a beautiful golden colour - they do look very appetising.
Onto the taste. From the smell and look of them, when you first crunch them they actually have a very intense flavour at first. It is not unpleasant - quite sweet, and again - stock cubes come to mind. I would have to say that they taste like a strong chicken flavour more than anything else - quite where the sage and ...

Advantages: Strong chicken flavour Disadvantages: Where's the stuffing? Very few crisps
...the stuffing. Walkers in my opinion, should concentrate on filling their bags with crisps NOT air or reduce their prices to reflect the contents. These are not a filling snack by my standards although I do find their bags of "posh" crisps extremely appetising and offers can usually be found for 2 for £2 in the supermarkets.
Walkers obviously want to make us laugh because on the reverse of my bag is a Christmas jingle ... here it goes then:
"we ... ...Now, I'm not sure what Walkers pay for these advertising "jingles" but a quick competition in the local primary school would have produced a quirkier jingle than that ...
Anyway, the "proof of the pudding" (groan ..) is in the eating, and my tastebuds unanimously scream "chicken" to me. I think generally speaking that Walkers do make the best tasting crisps, so I presume something went drastically wrong in their flavour testing department here!

Advantages: something to eat Disadvantages: not very tasty
...going out of fashion and Walkers have brought out their version of Christmas as well. I am talking about “Walkers roast turkey with Paxo sage and onion stuffing” crisps. These crisps have been brought out previously at Christmases past just for a limited time. I do remember them from last year but I’m not sure just when they first hit the market. How ever their back again.
I bought these at Sainsburys, they cost me 27p per 34.5-gram pack but Sainsbury’s ... ...dark blue with the usual Walkers icon of white lettering on a red banner. There is then a round Christmas bubble with a sprig of holly and the words “Roast turkey with Paxo sage and onion stuffing”.
The calories are very high as with most crisps. Per 34.5 pack. 752 kj/ 181 kcal.
When I got home I settled with my purchase and opened the pack. As I opened it, I began to imagine the flavour of a lovely roasted turkey all golden and tasty with a nice ...

...crisps I'm talking about are Walkers Roast Turkey with Paxo Sage & Onion flavour crisps. Bit of a mouthful, don't you think?!
I believe BUBBLES171 paid £0.35p for her packet. Whereas I paid only £0.27p for mine. Mind you, she did get hers out of a vending machine. I didn't! Well, the price I paid is for a 34.5g bag of these scrummy flavoured crisps! The foil bag is a dark blue in colour. On the front in big letters is the famous Walkers logo in ... ...mouth. I trust the Walkers name, and haven't yet tasted a flavour of theirs I don't like! Just as I thought, I do like these. There is a distinct taste of the sage and onion stuffing in these crisps. I found this rather appealing, as I do like stuffing. It actually tasted quite like the real thing! As for the turkey, there is a slight taste of this. But I think the sage flavourings do overpower the taste of the turkey, and shadows it a bit. But, ...
