walls bog standard bangers
Advantages better than microwaveable. they are sausages.
Disadvantages fatty and greasy. not as good as local produce.
OVERVIEW
They may not be as good as farm fresh, but you can't really fault the standard British banger. Cooked in the oven, grilled or in the frying pan, there's certainly no comparison between this and the microwaveable alternative. The extra time they take to cook is definately worth it if you prefer your sausages to taste like sausages rather than cardboard.
NUTRITION
They are readily available from all leading supermarkets and range in price from about two pounds to two pounds fifty. They are about 253 calories per 100 grams which is about average for this type of sausage. They come in packs of 454 grams of eight sausages, so you're looking at about 130 calories per sausage. Total fat per sausage is about 13.6 grams, with 2.8 grams being saturated fat.
