Advantages Great taste, full of vanilla flavour, easy to digest, easy to scoop out!

Disadvantages Expensive compared to ther brands

If you have read my previous review on Halls Throat Sweets then you will have read that I have recently has the unpleasant misfortune of suffering with a cold and sore throat. I am normally lucky enough to escape these things but it was the sore throat that really got to me, I am not the best patient in the world and it is fairly true to say that I was feeling pretty miserable with my sore throat... So much so that my other half went out to our local Tesco Shop to get me some ice-cream as my Mum had told me that is what she always has when she has a sore throat, the main reasons being is that she can taste it and it is cold and soothing on the throat.

Going to the local Tesco Express we knew that there would not be a great deal of choice however I was desperate! There was actually a bigger range than I thought there was going to be, this consisted of Tesco branded products as well as a couple of other brands. The Tesco products, which I have no problem with all contained some source of chocolate and seeing as I did not fancy this (Shock, horror!) I opted for some Walls Soft Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream.

As it was the only size available we brought the 2 litre tub and this is priced at £1.96. I guess this is quite expensive when you compare it to other brands but then a single chocolate bar would have cost me about 50p so in comparison it is not so bad!

The packaging is exactly as I remember a tub of ice cream being. The main colour of the plastic recyclable tub is blue and the lid is made of the same material but comes in white. It has a really large picture of a scoop of Ice cream on it as well as the familiar sight of the Walls logo, for those that don't know this is a picture of an outline of a red heart.

On the lid of the Ice Cream is all of the nutritional information that you need for the product as well as the fact that this product is the Light option, this is where Walls use 33% less fat in the Ice Cream compared with their other products. I did not really go for the light option it was more of a case of that was what was available to me. There is not much else to say on the packaging, it is quite average really n my opinion but I guess it is what is inside those counts.

After taking the ice cream form the freezer I first noticed that Walls are true to their word when they say that this is soft scoop ice cream, it is so easy to take a couple of scoops out even though this is obviously a frozen product. In the past I can remember having come close to throwing my tub of Ice cream into a microwave as it was so difficult to remove!

The all important taste test on the ice cream was excellent; it was so creamy and full of the flavour of the vanilla. It was the one thing that I could actually taste and really did make me feel a bit better. The ice cream was quite smooth in texture and really easy to digest which was great because of my throat. There was no smell on the ice cream, just fantastic taste, when it started to melt it did not go into a watery like substance and it still retained its flavour.
