Summer summer summertime and that only means one thing, ice cream! I love it when it's hot outside as i now have a good excuse to eat ice cream, as if you really need an excuse, but anyway.
One of my favourite ways to eat ice cream is in bar form and in my opinion one of the best ranges around is the range from Magnum! Magnum is an ice cream brand is owned by the British/Dutch Unilever company. They have quite a lot of different flavours that they produce now, including the ones that they have released the last couple of years such as Mayan Mystica, Ecuador Dark and Colombia aroma but I have to say that my favourite is actually the original version, now known as the Magnum classic.
The Magnum Classic first came out in 1989 and was just called Magnum but was later rebranded. It can be likened to a choc ice, ie vanilla ice cream covered in milk chocolate but it is way more than that. Firstly the Magnum classic comes on a stick so you do not end up with chocoalte or ice cream all over your hands as you would do a choc ice. The Magnum is lovely because it consists of lovely thick vanilla ice cream which is rounded at the top and the bottom of the bar. Then, the ice cream is covered in quite a thick layer of chocolate which I really like. With some other ice cream bars you really only get a thin layer of chocolate but this layer is lovely and crunchy and great to bite into. You do get bits flaking off when you bite into it so you do need to be careful but if you are a chocolate lover then this is definitely a bar for you.
Each of the bars are individually wrapped and so when you take off the wrapper you can leave it at the end of the stick just in case to catch any drops of chocolate or ice cream you may have.
Each ice cream weighs 86g and has 260 calories per bar which I don't think is too bad for both ice cream and chocolate. Sainsburys sells them in packs of 3 for £1.99 and they are definitely a product I recommend.

I use to have a job selling ice creams and probably ate more than I sold. I got to try all the different varieties and Magnums are definitely the kings of the freezer! Regards, Mike.
Advantages: Crisp thick chocolate, chunky thick creamy ice cream; refreshing Disadvantages: You'll sweat even more in the sun trying to burn off the fat and calories
