It had been a long, cold, wet and miserable day; I had a ton of house work to do, kids to feed and care for and the horrible prospect of nipping up to Tesco to buy our daily bread (amen). As I gaze out the wet and battered window, while my nostril breath the pleasant fumes of my purple one (Fairy), my face dropped. It was clear to me that what started off to be an unsure day was rapidly turning in to a wet, windy, horrid day, but no, I couldn’t put it off any longer, no ifs, buts or maybes I had to go out and get wet (I wouldn’t mind if it was that kind of wet, sadly it was to be the cold kind and not the hot and steamy kind :o(, oh well, there’s always tonight Hun, nudge, nudge, wink, wink)
Eventually I prised my ever expanding ass from the computer and dragged myself, the tandem and our wee Willy winkie and winkette, up to Tesco and do what I do best (No not that Hun, I like it better when you do it to me!) spend. Casually strolling the aisles my in built BOGOF beacon homed in on some refreshingly, fruity looking Walls Solero ice cream bars, perfect for a spot of the munchies after a social………. Uh …….Hmm……never mind (I will leave that one to your imagination).
Well we finally get back after bumping in to Mrs Bloggs an ex friend that has lips like a blow up doll, (bet she gives a wicked B……… guys ………… sorry for the rant, went a bit off topic then). Here I am at home, un-packing our shopping, leaving a trail of puddles on the floor as I shove and stuff our food products in everything imaginable with a door on it (no not the bedroom either Mr Charlie Chuckles, we know how food is a top notch way to cop your lot, clean your mind, I’m a family girl), my eyes roam in the direction of the frozen goodies, out with the Birds Eye frozen peas, skip past the Tesco cheap chips and head straight down to the two boxes of Walls Solero.
As I grasp the two stiff, hard boxes of ice cream loveliness’ my mind started to go bananas just at the thought of mounting my puckered up lips around, oh the very thought of a sharp but not bitter taste down melting down my throat. Unfortunately it’s a bit hard to indulge in the art of ice-cream sucking with the little ones around, so into the freezer they went, positioned nicely at the front, ensuring maximum ease should we feel the need to raid the freezer with a bad case of the munchies.
As the evening arrives, the kids tucked safely in bed and an attack of the munchies gets the better of us ………………….. I think it was almost a race to see who could raid the freezer first (I won). I couldn’t wait to remove the wrapper and do a bit of my own tongue and lip wrapping myself. Anxiously I rip open the box, and remove two luscious lollies, I was only seconds away from a mouth watering, lip tingling and toe curling sensation.
From the moment I ripped that wrapper off I was greeted with the fruity smell that filled my nostrils with delight, I tried to contain myself but it was no use, my juices started to flow as I dribbled (from my mouth I may add) with anticipation. Then it happened, I couldn’t resist any longer, I had to slide my moist lips up and down to the base of my lolly and what a pleasurable experience it was. As my mouth slid down the outer shell of exotic flavoured soft ice, I come over all funny, my lips started to tingle and a shiver worked its way around my body as the shear taste of exotic fruits (pineapple, mango, passion fruit and peach) overwhelmed me, causing me to lick and suck frantically. The concoctions of fruits are perfect, with each fruit complimenting the others so well and so balanced a perfect combination if you like. I think Walls have done themselves proud with this one, considering you have four highly flavoured fruits, you expect at least one to be the dominating flavour (I like a bit of domination sometimes but not where food is concerned) but no, all the flavours jump out at you, but don’t leave you feeling a bite of bitterness that you would expect. Perhaps that’s why I get a weird sensation in my body every time I get a mouthful of a Walls Solero Exotic.
Licking and sucking the final traces of the soft ice that surrounds the ice cream, I finally get to the interesting bit, the ice cream and not no ordinary ice cream either (ok it is just a bit different to their other products). The ice cream is lovely, so damn lovely that I could easily cover hubby in it and lick to my hearts content. While some ice cream filled lollies tend to be a little too hard (you know the type that gives you frostbite just at the thought of eating it), this one is just right, it’s vanilla (which I love), it’s soft, fruity, and creamy. If you imagine a creamy vanilla ice cream, with swirls and swirls of exotic fruits flavoured sorbet, that’s what you will find the moment you get past the coating and stumble across an ice cream that is out of this world.
I have found these particular ice creams to be perfect for hot summer days as they are so refreshing, so much so that one of these and you wouldn’t need a drink to cool you down or get your mouth watering.
Unfortunately it does have a draw back and it’s the only one I have found, it doesn’t last as long as I would like it to.
You can purchase Walls Solero Exotic in most super markets, corner shops, filling stations and newsagents. They come in either a box of 3 for around £1.99 or as a single bar, probably costing around a pound or slightly more. When we buy ours we normally wait until they are on a special buy one get one free offer and have twice as much for the cost of one pack.
Should you require any direct help from Walls themselves you can contact them on: Walls ice cream telephone: 01932 263000Enjoy!!
P.S Can help spice your evening up if rubbed in the right places, if that takes your fancy ;o)
Advantages: REFRESHING, CLASSY, FLAVOURS COMPLIMENT EACH OTHER Disadvantages: NONE WHATSOEVER, APART FROM COST A BOMB WHEN YOU BUY SINGLE LOLLIES
With the last week or so being a scorcher weather-wise, ice-cream has been order of the day, especially in our household. In preparation of this heatwave, our freezer has been stocked to bursting point with frozen delights to help keep us cool during those long, hot summer days.
Wall’s Solero’s are a favourite of mine. Being that little bit more luxurious in the ice-lolly stakes, even the lolly-stick is grander than that of your bog standard strawberry ... ...Give me any ice-cream on a hot day and I won’t refuse, it’s just the Solero has that extra bit of class.
For those accustomed to the magnificent Magnum ice-lollies, the Solero is almost identical except the outer laying is a mushed fruit sorbet as opposed to thick milk chocolate. Still glorious none-the-less, and a delight to behold.
Solero’s are widely available from corner shops, filling stations, supermarkets, in fact anywhere you can buy ice-cream. ...

Advantages: Its gorgeous and only 3% fat Disadvantages: dont last long enough
Ok for those of you who have read my Skinny Cow review yesterday. You know i have a sweet tooth. Well my other half surprised me with another delight this evening. (I think she is after something...lol)
This evenings delight is Walls Solero Red Fruits. A strawberry ripple ice cream covered in raspberry sorbet. Is your mouth watering as mine is just at the memory.
They come in packets of three at £1.99 per packet. These ones were bought in the Co-Op ... ...The packet is red with a picture of the icecream on the front with a bite taken out of it showing the ripples of the strawberry icecream. At the top in white is the Walls logo with Solero red fruits written underneath. on the left hand side are raspberrys and strawberrys. On the top right hand corner is (Oh Joy) a blue sign with MAX 3% fat written on it.
The wrapper itself is similar to the box but without the picture of the icecream. Just the strawberrys ...

Advantages: Cheap, tasty and relatively healthy pleasure Disadvantages: Only 3 per box!
We have just cheated and each enjoyed one of these as the sweet after our evening meal. I say cheated since my brother is mildly diabetic so he has to watch carefully what he eats and this is a 'pud' he can enjoy like the rest of us.
At only 99 calories per stickful the Solero is a tasty treat. Our favourite is the exotic version which tastes of passion fruit and vanilla. Despite the sugar substitute (and hence the low calorie rating) there is no ... ...not a dose of purgatory.
The packaging is eye-catching, some would say garish, but you should not miss these on the supermarket shelves. I say supermarket shelves since you can usually buy three in a cardboard box for the price you would pay for one in a convenience store, garage or traditional 'sweetie' shop.
Refreshing and flavoursome these do make a cheaters dessert and apparently they are not too bad for you either! Claiming to be without artificial ...

Advantages: Low fat/calorie, very creamy ice-cream, tastes more expensive than it is! Disadvantages: Some shops sell single ones but usually have to buy box of 3
I have been addicted to Walls Solero for a few years now!
They first appeared in around 1997 so are really an old favourite rather than a new product, but it has been improved upon over the years and the packaging has changed.
Available from most newsagents, mini-markets and supermarkets located in the freezer section they can usally be found in boxes of 3. Average price is £1.80 per box or around £1.20 if sold separately.
It comes in 2 flavours ... ...I usually opt for the summer fruit ones!
At less than 100 calories it's a great way to indulge (but not feel too guilty)!
The outside of the lolly is a frozen fruit compote (deep red colour) bursting with fruit flavour. Basically think summer berries pureed (redcurrants, blackcurrants, blueberries etc.)
On a hot day this is extremely refreshing...but there's more to come - inside is a very creamy vanilla ice cream centre lightly swirrled with ...

Advantages: Low fat, low calorie and delicious! Disadvantages: Perhaps not indulgent enough for some
This has to be my favourite summer snack. Not only is it beautifully creamy icecream with a taste that belies the low calorie content, but the sorbet is so refreshing that you won't need to keep going back for more!
My problem with icecream is that I love it too much, but it's not that great for my stomach. I want to be able to indulge without ending up fat as a barrel come winter. This is the ideal solution. It comes in Red Fruits and Tropical ... ...taste.
Each lolly has less than 100 kcal which is incredible when you taste it, because it really is creamy and thick, like top quality icecream. I find them satisfying because your little brain is tricked into thinking it's having a Magnum or something but actually it's a little less calorific. Imagine a hot, sticky day and everyone has had enough. You're all grumpy, but when the icecreams come out this one is the daddy. It solves all those problems ...

Solero
It was a hot sunny day , I needed a cooling down so when I went to Tesco?s shop I purchased an icecream, in fact I bought 3 a pack of 3 WallsSolero exotic fruits cost me £1.99 for the pack.. These lollies are quite big, a bit big for a small child.
Walls (unilever) first made Solerolollies in 1994.the exotic variety in 1997. Solero?s are a soft icecream on a stick; the icecream is covered in a soft fruit puree. These lollies are available in a range off flavours .orange, forest fruits, red fruits, and citrus fruits.
Now these icecreamlollies are marketed as being good for you, or at least not as bad as a lot of other icelolly products. The exotic solero I ate had only 2.2% fat and has vit c in it. Since it is made with milk a Solero contains calcium and protein too. Each one has 99 k calories.
My Exotic ...

Advantages: really refreshing Disadvantages: they are not everlasting
As the weather has started to improve again, well at least it is warmer I thought I would treat myself to a WallsSolero as I am a big fan of these.
Ok what is a Solero, well it was first launched by Walls in 1994 and was the first icecreamlolly of its kind combining icecream with a soft fruit puree ? sound delicious then read on an I will tell you.
OK, lets get the price bit out of the way, you can buy a pack of 3 for around £1.99 in most supermarkets though do look out for the BOGOF offers that are sometimes around as this really does make them a bargin. Mine on this occasion was bought in my local shop for £1.00 which seems to be the individual sale price across most newsagents locally selling these though sometimes they can be more. Do watch out though if you are at the seaside and buy these from an icecream vendor as ...

for WallsIceCream was so strong that sales reached a staggering £59 million and to meet demand a new state of the art factory was built in Gloucester.
Today the Wall's IceCream business is divided into three distinct divisions. These are referred to as the take home range, the impulse range and the Kid's range.
The take home range includes the famous family sizes tubs, the Vienetta range and premium products like the Carte D'Or range.
The impulse range is Wall's largest and most successful division. This includes the IceCreamLollies like Magnum, Solero and Cornetto.
The Kid's range as you have probably guessed includes a range of products especially formulated for Kids. These are generally more nutritious than the other products. This range includes Big Milk, which contains 70% milk.
Wall's are currently the leading UK ...
