***SOLERO SMOOTHIES*** This yummy, fruity Solero Smoothie lolly's are made from Walls and are Strawberry and Banana flavour. They also do other flavours in the Solero range but these are not in the smoothie range. Other Solero flavours include Berry Berry and Exotic. Solero Smoothie is a delicious ice cream coated in a fruit sorbet with the great combination of strawberry and banana. It also contains no artificial colours or flavours.
***NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION*** Each Solero Smoothie Strawberry and Banana contains the following:
* Energy - 99kcal (5% RDA)
Sugar - 17g (3% RDA)
Fat - 2.5g (4% RDA)
Saturates - 2g (10% RDA)
Salt - N/A
Each Solero Smoothie has 99 calories and is only available as a 90ml lolly.
***TASTE TEST*** When taking the lolly out of the bright, colourful plastic wrapper, you can see that the lolly is a deep purple colour with a hint of red in it. It smells quite fruity and looks as though the sorbet has bits in it which I am guessing is from the Strawberries they use to make the sorbet with. (I can't bite into ice cream/lollies due to sensitive teeth), as I start to lick the sorbet on the outside it's light and fruity with a slightly tangy taste which is quite nice. After licking this off it reveals a white ice-cream centre which taste of banana's which I thought as first was a strange combination but the 2 taste lovely together.
After finishing the lolly I was satisfied as this was fruity and delicious and I didn't even really notice the small bits in the sorbet which is good considering I hate yogurts with seeds or bits of fruit in. Overall I think this tasted more of banana than anything else, but I still enjoyed it and would buy them again.
***PRICE/AVALIABILITY*** I was in Sainsbury's the other day and I was looking in the ice cream section for something fruity and these caught my eye. I think they were about £2.19 for a box of these in which you get 3 lollies. These are available from Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda and other good super-markets. You may also be able to buy these singly form your local shop or a newsagents.
***OVERALL OPINION*** These are delicious fruity lollies but I wouldn't recommend them if you don't like banana's or don't even like the slightest taste of banana's as these taste more of banana than anything else really. I would probably try the other Solero lollies as well as these were nice to eat on a warm summer's day (not that we get much warm weather here!). They are refreshing and satisfying and I would definitely buy these again! (Review also on ciao)
Advantages: Smooth; creamy; refreshing; delicious; low fat and calorie Disadvantages: Too small; price
Solero are amongst my favourite ice cream due to the fact that there is no compromise on taste despite being only 99 - 106kcal per ice-cream and about 1.2g to 2.9g of fat.
The solero smoothie range are a new edition by Walls rather than the normal 'solero exotic'. I'm reviewing the 'Strawberry and banana' flavour because these were the ones we picked up in Asda as a box of 3 for just £1! There is also a blackberry and banana flavour in the range.
... ...ice cream with a sorbet coating. Sorbet is traditionally low in fat and calories because it's nothing more than fruit juices, water and sugar. It does however tend to be quite icy and crunchy in texture which isn't to everyone's liking but the Solero’s range is in a league of it's own and is set aside from normal sorbets. Because the ice-cream is so thick and creamy, the sorbet accompanies it perfectly. Solero's are made with real fruit juices and ...

Reviews which might be of interest for "Wall's Solero Smoothie"
One of my favourite ice creams has to be a WallsSolero (exotic flavour only though). Hard to believe but they are only 99 calories per ice cream, and they also have no artificial colours or flavourings!
I was actually amazed!
Other flavours of WallsSolero include strawberry and banana smoothie, blackberry and banana smoothie and they also have mini red fruit and exotic Solero's.
First of all I suggest taking the lolly out and leaving it for a one or two minutes so that the ice cream has a chance to become a bit soft as mine usually comes out a bit frosted.
The whole outside of the ice-cream is covered in the thick exotic sorbet coating, it gives off a fruity smell and it has a lovely tangy taste to it. The sorbet has a strong flavour to it, very sweet but very nice. I usually like to bite off the outside first. The ice ...

Advantages: Fruity , creamy , low calorie , tasty , good value , satisfying Disadvantages: Bananas if you don't like them
I hate to admit I'm doing another food review , but there you go . Among the new freezer products my hubby brought in last week were New SoleroSmoothies . Like the other solero products these are ice lollies made by Wall's but with a twist .
You get 3 lollies in a box and my hubby bought 2 boxes . One was Blackberry and Banana and the other was Strawberry and Banana . I am reviewing the Blackberry and Banana because that's all I have scoffed , up to now . You need to seriously like bananas to enjoy this Solero .
Inside the box the individual Soleros have the same fruity wrapper as the box . Tearing one open you do get a fruity smell . The SoleroSmoothies are a sort of oval shaped lolly on a stick . There is an outer fruity layer which tastes a bit like frozen fruit puree . It is not smooth but is I suppose like crushed ...
