Warcraft 3 continues the breathtaking story which began with its previous versions pulling the gamer into a fantastic world of sorcery and war.
A perfect sequel unlike most other sequels by others games, Blizzard has yet again achieved a masterpiece. A new Strategy game in its own right, construct a colony and thrash your opponents in any possible way. Warcraft is not only a Strategy game however, it belongs to the rare dual Strategy/Rpg games.
Addiction is inevitable.
STORY ------------------------------ A prophet warns the king to leave his country and travel with his people to the land of the elves. The king labels this nonsense and sends Arthas, his son; a prince and a paladin to stop the advancing orcs and to drive them back.
Little does he know that the Orcs are not the only danger to his people. An Army of the Undead are advancing led by a dreadlord called "Malganis" and are converting his people into vassels for the undead.
Arthas realizes he alone is too weak for this undertaking. A special Artifact; a powerful sword called Frostmourne is powerful enough to stop the invasion. But the blade is cursed and Arthas mind becomes corrupted as he wields the sword. Little does he realize, that the blade was created by the lord of the Undead (What irony). The price for wielding the sword will be paid 10x more than the downfall of Malganis.
Graphics ------------------------------ I was astounded at the graphics, every creature and object is lovely detailed, the vegetation is nicely animated and the entire graphics engine is extremely nice.
Not only do you navigate yourself through mountains and snow, but also through grassy landscapes, woods and ruins. The Night - Day feature is also included which not only changes the lightning and light effects but also allows various races to have day and night bonuses.
Weather is *not* included, and I write *not* since a hero has the ability to cast rain and stars but its not implented in the actual *landscape-area* itself.
The spells and lightning effects add a nice touch to the game. But this can cause lag for cheaper graphic cards for all the particle action occuring on the screen.
Sound ------------------------------ I really like the sound implented in the game, each race has its own music (Orcs have a bloodthirsty beat, elves have a more relaxing approach).
Heros and characters talking and the sound in battle are just fantastic. Hearing the drums of orc drummers, the grunts of animals and cries of dying warriors make the entire game more realistic (In a *fictional sense of course*).
Comparing the English to the German Version, The translated speeches, dont carry the same strength or irony as the English one. The witty comments and marks dont just come over.
Game ------------------------------ The game has nicely animated menus, allowing you to select various options before playing. You can play offline a skirmish version (similar to online except you play against the computer), online with Battlenet (A special feature in itself) or the Story option which continues the actual saga.
You can also watch previous games, so you can train and improve your tactics and see were you failed. In my opinion its an extremely nice touch.
Gameplay ------------------------------ It plays as a strategy game; you build a base, create units and wage war with rivals. But warcraft3 includes specialities including Heros which allow you to train a character throughout the game, collecting items and gaining valuable skills which could sway the tide in battle. 4 races are included in the game :
Orcs Elves Undead Humans
Each have their own bonuses, heros, strategies and Music.
Menu ------------------------------
The menu is fantastic, nice graphics and a great navigation system. You can choose various ways to play the game (Story, Online or Skirmish) and hours of fun are associated with all of these.
Clicking Online will connect you to battle.net, Blizzards server where you can play against people in your continent (or the continent you connect to).
Compare it to Microsoft's Zone and you will notice a remarkable difference. Battle net has crispier graphics, less cheaters and more generally speaking, a better atmosphere.
You can team up with other players and fight other teams, or you can be teamed up randomly. Whatever the result, fun is inevitable and addiction sets in.
System Requirements ------------------------------ (taken off ash1928 op)
400 MHz Pentium II or equivalent 128 MB of RAM 8 MB 3D video card (TNT, i810, Voodoo 3, Rage 128 equivalent or better) with DirectX® 8.1 support 700 MB HD space 4X CD-ROM drive Macintosh® OS 9.0 or higher/ Mac OS X 10.1.3. or higher.
However I would recommend for a hassle free game in the internet these specs :
1 GHZ Pentium III or equivalent 128 MB of Ram or higher ADSL | DSL -> (Any highspeed connection) 1 GB HD space (For those screenshots ;)) High speed CD-ROM drive
Conclusion ------------------------------ An excellent playable game. Extremely hard to stop playing and addiction nearly always occurs! (I had to delete the game and hide it ;))
You can easily grasp this game for the price of 20 Pounds (Battle.net does not cost money to join) or you can get the game with its addon "Frozen Throne" for an additional 10 pounds.
I seldom buy games, but this is one which was worth the money.
Advantages: great graphics, mesmerising scenery and very interesting and plausible storyline, that is very well realised. Many new and innovative game additions make this an involving game Disadvantages: can be rather addictive
...that big on computer games, Warcraft III is just another in a successful line of somewhat cheesy, but entertaining and thoroughly playable Real-Time Strategy (RTS) games from Blizzard. The first of these came out a good ten years ago, and was charmingly simple and completely addictive. The second Warcraft showed a marked improvement graphically, and much greater versatility in the game in terms of re-playability, with hordes of custom games and mapmaking ... ...those are quite mind-blowing in Warcraft 3), but relatively short cut scenes utilizing the game’s graphics engine that explain details about the storyline, and what the characters involved are up to. You can’t fast forward through them, which is sometimes an irritation, but for the first-time player (or, if you’re like me and played it a while but have forgotten everything) they’re very useful and explanatory.
The gist of Warcraft III is this: Demons ...

Advantages: Extremely well designed graphics and gameplay. Disadvantages: Humongously addictive
This by far has got to be one of the best games i have played "back in the day".
There are 4 sides in total that you can play. Orcs, humans, night elves and the undead. Im not going to explain the details of the storyline since i dont want to spoil it ;) but let me just say for the time it was set it certainly gives it the Lord of The Rings feel.
Humans:
They have swords and horsemen of course. But they also have elves at their side (no not night ... ...Orcs:
These are not orcs from Lord of the rings. These are green and are very strong, with teeth. Their not evil though, they have their beliefs and ways just like humans, their care about one another but due to their long history with humans they have been at war for a long long time.
Undead:
This is the evil side, its all about skeletons and spirits with this side, they are here to exterminate every living thing and corrupt the land to prepare ...

Advantages: Great graphics & cinematics, well edited and made. Disadvantages: Addictive, a danger to my sleep
Warcraft 3: The Frozen throne is the next in the long series of Warcrafts (Warcraft 1, Warcraft 2: Orcs and Humans and Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos) So of course this serves as an add on to Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos, but does it measure up? is the developer blizzards new child a genius or an abortion? lets wait and see...
Well, first we must look at what is actually in the add-on. When i first got the game (unfortunatley i was not in the beta, but ... ...space (in addition to the warcraft reign of chaos installation)

With these primitive enough specs you will be able to play this beauty well enough, but if you really want to have a good gaming experience then i recommend this:

...popular real time strategy series. WarCraft 3: Reign of Chaos continues the story of the series, detailing the apocalyptic events affecting of the Orc and Human population of Azeroth.
The game in essence remains faithful to both its predecessors and other games in its genre. The conept of the RTS is very simple, you control a small army, you build a base, gather resources, produce a bigger army, and basically try and destroy the enemy. With a varied ... ...you.
Moving on from WarCraft 2 Blizzard have added two more playable races, the Night Elves, who are adept at move unseen during the night, and eliminating enemies from afar. The other new faction would be the Undead Scourge, specialising in necromancy, the Undead can raise corpses to create skeletons, quickly amassing a whole new army in the middle of a battle.
Just to give you some idea of what kind of units each side has.

...am going to talk about. Warcraft III is a one of the most anticipated games in recent times and was released by the highly respectable Blizzard Entertainment who have also given us the epic Diablo.
Well I had played Warcraft II and enjoyed it quite a lot but of course it seems a very silly game now with choppy graphics and all. Then Blizzard released Starcraft and its expansion pack Brood War. Starcraft became a phenomenon and I along with many ... ...is supposed to be about. Warcraft III is a Real Time Strategy game where you have to command your forces through 4 different grueling campaigns of 4 different races which I am going to discuss further down the op. Initial Impressions - Well, I ordered the game and it came in a nice neat package which had an orc on the cover and said “Warcraft III - Reign of Chaos”. I could not wait to install the game which I did soon. The installation ...

Advantages: Well put together, excellent clarity Disadvantages: This game isn't meant to be enjoyed as such. It's meant to be played.
tell you this: it?s bigger, better and somewhat bolder. Packed with twenty-six new missions ? more fun than you can poke a stick at ? there are also some interesting role-playing game elements. Players start off with the Night Elves and move along to Humans after completing a few scenarios. Later on you get to preside over the Undead. It essentially picks up almost exactly where WarcraftIII ended, in terms of storyline. Moreover, it manages to integrate smoothness very effectively by stepping things up a notch in the interface department. Be warned however, players will require a good 3D graphics card and general all round modernness if they expect to have this baby run smoothly! It eats sizable chunks of computer memory.
If you?re reading this you might have already played WarcraftIII: Reign of Chaos and are just wondering whether you ...
