Tom Clancy?s H.A.W.X is Like some bizarre ritual every time something remotely to fighter jets is uttered the first thought that comes to mind is of the wild aerial manoeuvres pulled off by certain top-gun pilots on the silver screen in the early 90s. Perhaps the concept behind ubisoft?s newest venture Tom Clancy?s H.A.W.X (high altitude warfare experimental squadron) was to allow the mavericks inside us to finally execute those outrageous stunts in the comfort of our homes.

We booked a cottage through Sykes cottages in Wales and found the property owners lived in the basement - they could hear everything we were doing. This was not explained in the brochure and when we queried it before arriving - problems with arranging key collection made us suspicious - we were told not to be so silly and of course the owners didn't live at the property.
In addition to this the property was not up to scratch - not clean (the worst being blood found under toilet seat), antiquated heating system, inadequate smoke alarms, strange things happening with electrics etc.
To top it all we also found fleas throughout the property that left us with numerous bites to our legs - the property was advertised as pet free but the owners used the property during the winter and had a dog!

I have read the two previous reviews on Sykes Cottages and have to agree with the general view that once they have the booking they are not interested in any complaint and just pass on responsibility to the owner.
In our case we booked a week in a cottage in November and have two complaints arising from inadequate description or misleading information.
1 There was a winding, narrow stairway with no handrail, and none of this was stated in the brochure. In our opinion this made it quite unsuitable for the elderly or infirm and after struggling for three days we abandoned our break and came home.
2 The brochure said ? Roadside parking for 1 car (1 min walk from property). ? which to me means a reserved space is available. There was no such space and it was necessary to search for a place which when found was seldom within 1 min.
