Advantages Simple, no-nonsense comprehensive cover and a number of payment options.
Disadvantages None
I have owned a Vauxhall Vectra since new and being a high mileage driver (and it is not a fleet car) my manufacturer's warranty expired well before the vehicle was 3 years old. Because of the high mileage and the need to ensure that my vehicle was always roadworthy, I reviewed a number of warranty companies, including the manufacturer's extended warranty but the miles I cover meant that it was unsuitable, and sought views from a number colleagues and was 'warned off' some other companies who promised everything and then delivered very little. I eventually chose Warranty Wise (which is fronted by Quentin Wilson) because of the comprehensive cover offered and the promised 'no nonsense' approach to the warranty - if the component breaks, or even causes something else to break, you are covered. Although the standard policy covers all electrical and mechanical parts of the vehicle, you are also allowed, on payment of additional premiums, to add on specific cover not normally covered by other warranties - I chose the Air Bag System, Catalytic Convertor, Labour Rates per hour - you can vary this) and Tyre Damage. I have been unlucky with a previous car to suffer TWO cambelt failures and this policy covers all damage caused by failure of the Cambelt so long as it has been replaced in accordance with manufacturer's schedule.
So, they offer you everything.......but do they deliver. And the answer is an emphatic YES.
Four months into the policy the car suffered from failure to the Electronic Control Unit that was going to cost me very dearly!!!! I took the car to my main dealership and left them with the warranty details. Within a couple of hours, I had received a call from them that the repairs had been approved to the full cost of the repair (including the labour rates I had requested) and after the repair was completed I received the final settlement within a matter of days. The dealership were very impressed by the comprehensive level of the cover I had obtained and how quickly and courteously they had received the go ahead to carry out the repairs. I had to make one call to the warranty company - 6 months worth of premiums had to be paid before claims would be settled but it was a simple matter of paying the other couple of months premiums over the phone or being offered the immediate settlement less the premium deductions . Very simple and it was a pleasure to 'speak to someone' at the other end instead of being asked to chose many options before you even hear a human voice!!!! You can pay your premiums annually (and make a small saving on the monthly premiums) but the benefit of monthly premiums also attracted me to the policy.
If you are looking for a comprehensive policy, optional extras, simple no-nonsense cover that promises AND delivers, then I would recommend to anyone to chose Warrantywise.
