Warranty Wise

Bought a pick up about 18 months ago, all went well for several months then it overheated and cut a long story short it was found that the head gasket had blown...Cost was well over $2k and warranty wise paid most of it, they deducted the cost of a replacement radiator as it was required by Mitsubishi to guarantee the work but wasn't defective..in effect job cost nearer £3k ...sent off paperwork and in about a week to ten days I got a cheque for the money...
At renewal I thought about the chances of something like that happening again, but for only £600 split over 3 payments I felt it was a worth wile insurance... however a couple of months later I found a patch of coolant on the car mat, after investigation it turned out to be a split in the heater matrix...this time there was no issue about parts and the claim was paid in full..about £800..again by cheque
My only thought is I wish they could have sent funds to the garage direct and not involve me, or at least pay me back by bank transfer instead of taking weeks to send a cheque which then takes more time to clear...overall the service is fantastic but like anything in life could do with a few small improvements.. like bank payments or more approved garages
