A kind invitation to the Officer's mess at a nearby RAF station gave my friend Herman and I the opportunity to sample this product at a subsidised price. In contrast to the homogenous chemical brew which normally passes for lager in this country, we found Warsteiner a rich full-bodied and flavoursome brew, delivering a crisp alcoholic bite whilst remaining refreshing. Each of us consumed several chilled foaming pints in a remarkably short period of time, the result being unpredictably severe difficulties in walking home. Since that partially memorable night, I have encountered Warsteiner on a handful of occasions; it is, quite simply, a superlative product, a great alternative to the more widely-marketed premium lagers, and I recommend that you try it!
