It's a part of my family - mood swings and all.
Review of Indesit WD 12 X by
roxanne_m7699
Advantages: does the job
Disadvantages: likes to shout about it
Indesit WD12 - Washer dryer. "A programme for all seasons" as per the manual however to be honest I only ever use the one setting. Number 4. All year round. Functions
Normal wash
The machine has three fabric settings each with a variety of options which is dictated by how soiled your laundry is, from light to heavily, and this changes the length of the cycle and the different functions that is involved during, eg wash cycle at 40c, rinse cycles, ... ...conclusion, I have found this indesit to be a long serving slave to my clothes, never let me down, leaked or blown up. It is relatively quick and not too noisy. Fits nicely under my work top and has the two colour options most go for. It doesnt have any sort of annoying beep to indicate its finished just winks at you with a lovely red eye until you turn him off. ...

Woudl be good if only it was reliable
Review of Hotpoint-Ariston A1600WD by
mierluin
Advantages: Fast spin, easy to use, great when working
Disadvantages: unreliable, poor design for use with small pieces or clothing
Poor build quality. Had this machine for 3 years and had to use callout on warranty four times. Don't use colour catchers in this machine as they get trapped and cause the machine to flood (had this happen 4 times). Dryer has given out after 3 years (no heat) and we're looking at a replacement now. Certainly wouldn't say that Ariston goes "on and on" - for those that remember their old advert!
Machine is easy to use with a 30 degree cycle as well ...

Hotpoint WD420P washer dryer
Review of Hotpoint WD420 by
ipylon
Advantages: Looks good, well laid out, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Has the life expectancy of a Mayfly. Dryer not very efficient.
...unhelpful and unsympathetic service from Hotpoint themselves. The unit broke 4 times in the first year, always the dryer at fault. the 5th time faulty was just 2 weeks after the warranty expired. Hotpoint didn't care it was the same fault and told me I had to pay £90 pounds to have their engineer fit a part under their 5-year warranty. some warranty! after much arguing they sent an engineer who wrote the machine off! they replaced it after much arguing. ...

Mr Spencer Hurley
Review of Hotpoint BWD129 by
Baybash
Advantages: Fills a gap in a kitchen while you wait for them to repair it.
Disadvantages: Cheaply made, even cheaper customer service
Hotpoint (Indesit are their parent company) will sell you their product through MFI and when the machine breaks, AND IT WILL, they will: A: Send an engineer out (at their convienience not yours). B: Tell you it must be your fault it's broken. C: Begrudgingly fix it (although this will take 4 visits - again at their convienience) D: The machine will break in exactly the same place (cheap plastic paddles that make the clothes tumble) in less than 3 ... ...out of date and that they will only send an engineer to look at the product if you pay them £104 UPFRONT!! Even though the parts they replaced are 3 months old and therefore technically still in warranty. Listen to those voices that tell you you'd be a mug to go anywhere near Hotpoint, Indesit and MFI. P.S. The fact that you have a 10 month old child that needs clean clothes ever day is somewhat of an irrelevnce to them. I'm still dealing with Trading ...
