Space-Saving Great Quality.
Review of Zanussi ZWD1472W by
Callinore
Advantages: Various washing cycles for needs and can wash and dry loads in one go.
Disadvantages: Spliting load for drying.
I bought the silver model, which is the same apart from the finish, which was to suit my kitchen. I got a very good online offer and saved more than £50, buying from Sainsburys Electrical. It was a bit tricky to fit in my small and rather cramped kitchen, since the outlet pipe could not be changed easily for a longer one, due to having a particular filter fitting. I expect that the Calgon is needed more because of this lack of filter on our extended ... ...see it as a problem and perhaps paying for an instalation would have meant a longer pipe could have had the filter, but would have cost a fair bit to get someon out to do it.
The machine is wonderfully efficient, although as one reviewer already mentioned, it can leave bobbly bits on the wash. I find this is best avoided by shaking out the clothes before the wash and using liquid detergents instead of powders. A quick wash takes just over an hour ...

Great...when it works
Review of Zanussi WJD1257 by
PurpleHellyBook
Advantages: brilliant wash results and an all in one machine
Disadvantages: keeps breaking down
We bought this machine as we had no room in our kitchen for a seperate washer and dryer, and no other way of drying clothes as we dont have a garden. We had already had one washer dryer and liked the ease of use and decided when that wore out (from old age) that we would fork out a bit extra money to get a top of the range one. We bought an extended warranty (thank God), and all was well for about 9 months. The digital display was great, giving you ... ...average load in my house took around 3 hours from going in dirty to coming out clean and dry). That was great, but then it stopped drying.
A repair man was called (under warranty of course), and we were told that it needed a new heater element. Fine... that was replaced and for another 3 months we were able to use the machine again. Then it wouldnt dry again. The problem this time was that the heater fan motor had gone... Still under warranty it ...

All-in-one machine
Review of Zanussi-Electrolux WJS1265 by
fbaggy
Advantages: all-in-one machine
Disadvantages: dryer has broken a number of times
I have now had my washer/dryer for 4 years (purchase date 25/10/01).
I have always had a washer/dryer and personally would not be without one.
My previous one was a Hotpoint and as it had lasted over 12 years I was going to get another one.
I started my search by going round the local curries and comets etc. After picking the brains of the salesperson (I had explained I wanted a high spin, A grade washer and A grade dryer) this Zanussi one was ... ...when I had stated that I wanted a high spin he suggested instead of looking for a high spin I look for one with the most holes in the drum.
He explained-and it’s obvious when you think about it-that it doesn’t matter how much a machine spins if there isn’t enough holes to let out the water.
Of course we didn’t believe him--all washer/dryers are the same--but guess what--he was right. They aren’t all the same. All the salespersons I spoke to told ...

Great value with excellent drying function
Review of Indesit Widxl 126 by
doakdom
Advantages: dries very well and has a nice build quality
Disadvantages: none
The tumble dryer is very effective, this is our second washer/dryer and this seems to dry things very quickly. There is a very handy 60 minute 'flash clean' which we use all the time and seems to clean very well. This machine has a good build quality, the dials feel nice and solid as you turn them and the door has a satisfying locking close when you shut it. There is also a feature to do an extra rinse which uses extra water at the end of the cycle ...

Woudl be good if only it was reliable
Review of Hotpoint-Ariston A1600WD by
mierluin
Advantages: Fast spin, easy to use, great when working
Disadvantages: unreliable, poor design for use with small pieces or clothing
Poor build quality. Had this machine for 3 years and had to use callout on warranty four times. Don't use colour catchers in this machine as they get trapped and cause the machine to flood (had this happen 4 times). Dryer has given out after 3 years (no heat) and we're looking at a replacement now. Certainly wouldn't say that Ariston goes "on and on" - for those that remember their old advert!
Machine is easy to use with a 30 degree cycle as well ...
