I purchased my Whirlpool shortly before Xmas 2007 as a replacement for my old machine which had decided to give up on me at the worst possible time of year. When our old Servis washing machine blew up we decided to buy this whirlool principally because it was in a sale. Machine The machine has specific functions for syntehetics cottons wool colours Some of these cycles are over 2hours long The machine also has a daily wash cycle which is an hour long and cleans the clothes perfectly well. It also has a quick wash function which is only 30 minutes and is ideal for washing clothes in a hurry although ...
...You can use the machine to set the temperature of the water and it can go down to 30 degrees but the clothes do not seem as clean. The draw in the machine for the wash powder can accomodate both powder and liquid detergents. It cn also hold fabric softeener and pre wash detergent. The 1400 spin means that the clothes are not driopping wet when coming out of the machine. If you wish you can vary the spin speedon certain cycles but i keep it on 1400. ... Read review

...eventually relented and bought this Whirlpool as a direct replacement, costing £185-00 on offer from Co-op direct. I've immediately taken out the *8* year (yes, eight year) warranty for parts for just £25-00! Okay you still would have to pay for labour, but its pretty impressive to find a budget machine with such good warranty on its parts. It has done all we've asked of it so far - and is particularly quiet in operation, especially after the Servis ...
...and the clothes certainly do seem to come out much less creased when using a program that triggers this particular aspect of the wash. Dials and controls are all very easy to use, and firm under touch. It doesn't feel at all flimsy, especially when you consider the cost of the machine. My experience of Zanussi is very poor, I bought a ZWF 1631 W. No problems for 2 years 6 months then motor and brain failure. (Is this an acceptable life span for a £350 product?) As the machine was outside warrenty and uneconomical to repair I accepted a contribution offer for a new machine on the understanding they would deliver in 10 days, install and take away the old machine. ...By the way according to Zanussi if you live in Northern Ireland it takes longer to deliver because it is not in the UK, putting aside the fact that some may be surprised by their understanding of geography, they did not tell me that when they wanted my money for a replacement.
