Don't buy it Advantages: None. Disadvantages: The bleeping, it's incessant. I cannot express strongly enough how frustrating this machine is and how much I hate using it. It's nothing special in terms of functionality, it's no better and no worse than any other washing machine I've used. As far as I'm concerned none of the functionality, relability or performance matter because there is one thing built into this machine that will drive even the most tolerant insane. I refer to the ridiculous, unnecessary and extremely LOUD ... ...because to me alarm is something that sounds when something is wrong. Not on this machine, the alarm sounds for absolutely everything. It serves no dianostic purpose because it's always flipping bleeping. It's very loud and can be hard two rooms away, that's not an exaggeration. AEG 16820 Family washer Advantages: Very clear controls and very easy to use, good programme range, sensible positioning of controls Disadvantages: drying seems a little slower than separate tumble, only B energy rating ...clothes seem less creased. Overall a quality product built to last with excellent features and well recommended for a family where you wash every day! I would deffinately buy AEG again and good value for money compared with other similar products ie bosch or zanussi condenser washer dryers. ... A good brand gone bad Advantages: Large capacity Disadvantages: Poor customer service We have had Whirlpool machines for 20 years or so because they are fast and have a good capacity. We have had this machine for 18 months. There are just two of using it and the tub bearing failed. Whirlpool want £662 to repair it or provide a new one for £595. We paid that amount for the original one. beko washer, the good & not so good. Advantages: Good value machine, washes well on every programe Disadvantages: Quick wash cycle takes ages! ...going to happen again. This Beko model was the cheapest one recommended on comparison web sites. Well I have to say I am chuffed to bits with it. It does exactly "what it says on the tin", lovely clean clothes on all programs, even the delicate wash. It is a very quiet machine, with easy to follow controls. My only little gripe with it is that Beko's idea of a quick wash programe is a bit wide of the mark to mine! The pits Advantages: NONE Disadvantages: Length of time for wash, Poor wash, Leaking, over-sensitive balance I bought this machine about 6 months ago as a fairly basic work horse machine. It is cold fill and supposed to be green & economical to run - huh! Firstly it takes 2.5 hours for a full cotton wash and I would question how 2.5 hours electricity saves much over heating the water a bit more. I don't have that time to wait for a wash to finish - so what economy? Quickwash is just a swill round - nothing more. The balance mechanism is so delicate that ... ...still dripping - more waste of power and time. On several occasions it has leaked water when taking in either through the soap drawer or today - the door! I like to hang washing outside when possible but half the day has gone before the wash has finished. I did have a fault soon after purchasing and I must say that was cheerfully and speedily fixed.
