Ariston A1636 washing machine.

Advantages: Bigger washload, high spin speed.
Disadvantages: None really.

More reliable than Hotpoint!

Advantages: Good load balencing, wide selection of programmes
Disadvantages: none so far

I haven't had much luck with washing machines, they never seem to last long. The last one, a Hotpoint, was foever jumping around the kitchen and shaking its circuit boards to destruction. This one, however, doesn't seam to suffer like that. It has a laod balencing caopability which makes even wet towels spin evenly - i.e no noisy, floor damaging jumping. A good brand gone bad

Advantages: Large capacity
Disadvantages: Poor customer service

We have had Whirlpool machines for 20 years or so because they are fast and have a good capacity. We have had this machine for 18 months. There are just two of using it and the tub bearing failed. Whirlpool want £662 to repair it or provide a new one for £595. We paid that amount for the original one. beko washer, the good & not so good.

Advantages: Good value machine, washes well on every programe
Disadvantages: Quick wash cycle takes ages!

...going to happen again. This Beko model was the cheapest one recommended on comparison web sites. Well I have to say I am chuffed to bits with it. It does exactly "what it says on the tin", lovely clean clothes on all programs, even the delicate wash. It is a very quiet machine, with easy to follow controls. Advantages: NONE
Disadvantages: Length of time for wash, Poor wash, Leaking, over-sensitive balance

I bought this machine about 6 months ago as a fairly basic work horse machine. It is cold fill and supposed to be green & economical to run - huh! Firstly it takes 2.5 hours for a full cotton wash and I would question how 2.5 hours electricity saves much over heating the water a bit more.
