I bought a Servis black washing machine M6702B just over a year ago for £360 - I thought I was paying more for the design and quality. Just after the 12 month warranty expired (literally 2 weeks) the machine went completely dead. The Whirlpool AWO/D4505 is the best washing machine I have ever bought. I liked it because whilst being fairly cheap and affordable, it offered what a lot of washing machines of that price didn't. (Not to mention the A+ energy rating, which does make yourself feel a bit greener in caring about the environment!) Disadvantages: One fault so far but was covered by the extended warranty- dispenser (i think) needed replacing

I have had this machine for 3.5 years and recently needed the dispenser replacing as there was water leaking underneath. We had purchased the extended warranty so did not need to pay for this and the guy who replaced it said it was quite a common part to go on washing machines. I have not really had any other problems with it other than a whitening sachet getting stuck in the filter causing it not to drain properly but I avoid using the sachets now ...
...to use the 40 deg wash mostly and did notice after the dispenser was replaced a stale smell coming from the machine so I have since been running a hot wash every couple of months and this has improved the smell. Our landloard cursed us with this machine about a month ago. From the very first load it would not spin either at the end or during the wash meaning washing regularly came out soapy and soaked. After reporting it to comet for repair, they have replaced the PCB (programme control board) and it now appears to work correctly. It appears that these machines are being sold with a known fault in the PCB software that causes the machine to believe the ...
...may be possible to tell which version of the software your machine has. Before ours was "repaired" the ECO button had options for 1:3 1:2 3:4 and Full. After the new PCB was installed we were told this would change to L1, L2, L3, L4 and A which it has. If your machine has the old set of ECO options and it fails to spin regularly you definately need a replacement PCB. Even after the repair I do not like this machine very much.
