The Eco friendly Zanussi ZXF 12070 Advantages: Eco friendly Disadvantages: none to speak of yet!! ...from Curry's as our old Zanussi had finally ground to a halt. We paid approximately £320 for the new Zanussi but this included the removal of the old machine. On receiving it I was a bit daunted at first by the different numbers on the dial but on reading the instruction manual provided and once I started using it I found the Zanussi very easy and efficient to use. beko washer, the good & not so good. Advantages: Good value machine, washes well on every programe Disadvantages: Quick wash cycle takes ages! ...going to happen again. This Beko model was the cheapest one recommended on comparison web sites. Well I have to say I am chuffed to bits with it. It does exactly "what it says on the tin", lovely clean clothes on all programs, even the delicate wash. It is a very quiet machine, with easy to follow controls. My only little gripe with it is that Beko's idea of a quick wash programe is a bit wide of the mark to mine! Theres no (hot) point in buying any other machine! Advantages: Very quiet, stylish, energy saving..... Need I go on?? Disadvantages: Have not found one as yet! ...reviews before eventually choosing the Hotpoint BHWM129, which was described by some as having a built in fully functional laundry in your kitchen. It has a large wash load of 6.5kg which is useful for washing larger items like bath towels or even duvets but also leaves fewer creases in clothes when a smaller load is put in. It has an energy rating of A, which is the best you get and will save you money by using a lot less electricity and as it ... ...and the environment. Similarly it has a top of the range wash performance rating again of A, which simply means it gives the best wash performance available and is proven to be super efficient at removing stains. Very noisy at 1600 spin, cycles take forever! Advantages: washer and dryer in one. Disadvantages: cycles take forever, will make quite a noise when it operates at 1600 speed spin. How they can call this machine super silent I don't know. Users who say it is quite are not using the 1600 spin (granted this is only on offer for the cotton cycle). Although visually the machine looks good with a digital display, the brains seem very old and I am very disappointed as I expected a lot from this appliance. If I could return it I would get a low cost washer and dryer as two separate machines - thats what I have in my second property ... ...same. Creases Galore (The drum is fairly small even though the wash is rated at 8kg). Larger drums = less creases. Good for small spaces, but don't bother getting the 1600 model. Although given the poor cycle times, it might be best to avoid this series all together. One strange item to report: if you don't undo the buttons of your shirts and run the 1600 cycle, the machine somehow breaks the buttons into pieces :( ... WASHER REPAIR TO BWD 129 HOTPOINT Advantages: SILENT MACHINE Disadvantages: POOR REPAIR SERVICE ...INDICATING A FAULT. I CONTACTED HOTPOINT IN ORDER TO GET IT REPAIRED. THEY SENT OUT THE FIRST REPAIR MAN WHO SPENT 61 MINUTES FIXING THE MACHINE AFTER. MY WIFE CAME IN THAT EVENING TO BEGIN WASHING AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE FLASHING RED LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF STARTING THE DRYING CYCLE. AFTER QUITE A LENGTHY TELEPHONE DELAY IN TRYING TO CONTACT HOTPOINT I EVENTUALLY BOOKED IN ANOTHER REPAIR DATE. THE REPAIR MAN CAME MADE ANOTHER DIAGNOSIS ... ...REPAIR DATE. I DULY TELEPHONED HOTPOINT , AFTER AGAIN A LENGTHY DELAY AND EXPRESSED MY DISSATISFACTION WITH THEIR SERVICE. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANOTHER HOTPOINT MACHINE AGAIN, I ASKED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE ADVISOR FOR COMPENSATION AFTER SPENDING OVER £30 IN THE LAUNDRY BUT TO NO AVAIL - THEY SAID THEY DO NOT OFFER COMPENSATION, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED -STEER CLEAR OF HOTPOINT. ...
