...the drum ! My previous Hoover WM had broken down and after a battle with Dom & Gen for 3 weeks they decided to replace it with the HNL 642 under my washing machine repair plan. I had to wait for a week until the replacement was delivered from Wales to N Ireland. By now the washing is taking over my house and thats with taking some to family to wash. There are 6 of us so a washing machine is essential. Now I am without a washing machine again. Hoover ... ...complaint !!! I wouldn't recommend Hoover washing machines or their customer service. It would be wiser to save for a new washing machine every year as put up with the hassle of waiting for months to get the old one fixed. Mine only last a year and then things go wrong. The repairman is calling tomorrow AGAIN to see whats wrong this time. I will prob have to wait another week to get another machine from them. It is a nightmare to say the least. I ...

Review of Hoover HNL642
Advantages: Many wash features. Disadvantages: Hot wash takes a while to run.
This machine is brilliant. A friend recommended this model after our old one died.There are many wash cycles and lots of different features such as rinse only, spin etc. It uses cold water and is A rated for electric. The drum is a good size and the door opens easily.Easy to use and well built.It's quiet when running, and you can slow the spin down easily. I would recommend this with only a slight hesitation about the hot wash which takes a few hours ...

Advantages: Load Size, Noise, Features Disadvantages: None so far
...So why this particular model
Hoover Vision 842 was the model for us, now we chose this particular model for a few reasons. Hoover was a name we were familiar with and one which we felt had made an impression on the market with the products. It is an AAA rated machine with a massive 8kg wash load; superb 1400rpm spin speed and well within our budget. What more could we ask for? Well next day delivery would be lovely **Cost and Availability**

Advantages: NUMEROUS! PLEASE READ ON...... Disadvantages: none significant, but more than 1 yr guarantee would be nice, at the price
...(has to be repaired by Hoover at Hoover prices). They also offer you 4 years labour insurance at about £180, to be arranged within 30 days.
What I like best is the big drum size, quick 15 minute wash, very high spin, and fact that the drum is quite high so loading isn't such a strain on the back. The porthole is very wide and the door opens wide, although not to a full 180. All in all I think it was a sound buy. I paid £359 from a local dealer including ... ...could have probably got it cheaper from a big online store but I like to support local firms and knew they would give a trustworthy service as I have bought from them before. The small neat manual is well set out and very easy to read and make sense of. ...

Advantages: 9kg drum... 'triple A' rating Disadvantages: Overkill for couples
This Hoover washing machine is great! The best feature is its 9!!!!KG drum--- the average drum is about 5kg and if your like my mother who seems to be washing constantly (she does have 3 boys after all) its a massive help... likewise if your just a couple this would be overkill for you! A 1600 speed spin its a good speed- as I have been told more than this can actually cause damage to your delicates without you realising! And dont worry as this is ... ...you manually control the speed!
For those of us who so there bit for the environment it has a 'triple A' rating which is basically the best you can get- this combined with the big drum means its possible for a family to HALVE the cost of the electricity used in during the washing process! Also useful for those looking to save the pennies is the start delay option- for those of electricity economy 7 you can set the delay up to to 12hours and therefore ...
