Bought this machine early 2004 after years of renting trouble free whirlpool front loaders. Early on the soap draw kept leaking despite several attempts to purge it. Unlike British machines, since the service back up doesn't come from the manufacturer, it is impossible to discuss your fault with a human unless you want to pay for a call out only to risk being told that the fix is childishly simple.
Last year the bearings became noisy so I sourced ... ...graphite seal (or maybe visa-versa) thus corroding the driveshaft. I had no choice other than to clean it up, renew the bearings &seal and pack the whole housing with thick grease! 8 months later the fault has recurred so this time I'll be forced to scrap it. The only good news is that since my rebuild, I have never seen any leakage at the soap drawer. The white smoothrite applied to all the rusty ironwork has worked fine! Did I buy a Friday afternoon ...
Advantages: Takes duvets. Quiet. Includes timer so can set it to come on Disadvantages: One fault so far but was covered by the extended warranty- dispenser (i think) needed replacing
I have had this machine for 3.5 years and recently needed the dispenser replacing as there was water leaking underneath. We had purchased the extended warranty so did not need to pay for this and the guy who replaced it said it was quite a common part to go on washing machines. I have not really had any other problems with it other than a whitening sachet getting stuck in the filter causing it not to drain properly but I avoid using the sachets now ... ...to use the 40 deg wash mostly and did notice after the dispenser was replaced a stale smell coming from the machine so I have since been running a hot wash every couple of months and this has improved the smell. I would recommend this machine to others although I have nothing to compare it too as this is our first house ...
