...) connected to a modem, one via a USB (Universal Serial Bus cable that supports data transfers) and one via an Ethernet Cable (Bus cable supporting data transfers). However with the introduction of a new PC, my machine was moved to a different room, hence the requirement of a longer, Networking cable that could support the data transfer requirements and provide flawless data transmission.
Computers that are linked up to a LAN are connected using Cat-5 Cables. Cat-5 is short for Category 5; the definition for network cabling that consists of four twisted pairs of copper wire terminated by RJ45 Connectors (Registered Jack 45 – an 8 wire computer connector). RJ45 Connectors look very similar to the RJ11 connectors used to connect telephone equipment but they are slightly wider/ Standard Category 5 cabling supports frequencies of 100Mhz and speeds...

...jack, which is a nice touch. They also prevent the tab from being snapped off. The plug itself is moulded onto the cable, although the BT plug is the standard crimp-on variety.
Looking at the plugs more closely, the contacts are plated with 24 CT gold. Although I am sceptical about any performance gains, I would agree that it will certainly help with durability, since the gold will resist oxidation which would cause signal degradation.
The technology used in the construction of this cable is very similar to the technology used for Belkin's standard range of Cat 5 ethernet network cables. In fact, Belkin claims that this cable can support data transfer rates up to 100 Mb/s. Those sort of speeds are way off into the future, in terms of what you can get through a standard telephone or even broadband line, so you have to question whether...

This is a normal printer cable which means it has two ends, one being the end which goes into any USB port in your computer or laptop, this end is the rectangle shaped end and is called a type A.
The other end is which goes into your printer, and don’t worry as nearly every printer made has this kind of end so it will definitely fit, and this end is kind of square in shape and is known as the type B end.
It transfers data to your computer at speeds of up to 480 mbps, that’s megabytes a second which is really fast and is about 40 times faster than USB 1.1 cables.
The cable its self is 1.8 m...
