Citizen Skyhawk A-T Eco-drive watch
Review of Citizen Eco-Drive Watch by SvenP

Advantages: Atomic time-keeping, solar powered, 200m WR
Disadvantages: Not the lightest of watches

Citizen Skyhawk A-T Eco-drive watch, model no JY0000-53E. At the time of writing, this watch is the top of the Skyhawk model range, Citizen's take on aviation themed watches. In addition to the usual Skyhawk features, the A-T model synchronises with the atomic clock signal. As well as being able to receive the European signal, it can also be trained to the USA and Japan time signals by setting the relevant time zone - an advantage over some of the ...
...is a chunky design with a stainless steel bracelet and base contrasting the black face and rotating slide rule bezel. The hands are metallic with luminous inserts, and all the hour markers also contain the luminous inserts. The watch weighs in at 178g (on our digital kitchen scales) and the glass is 34mm diameter, with the watch 47mm wide and 14mm deep (note: all measurements taken with a shatter resistant ruler and Mk 1 eyeball). Overall, for such ... Read review

Seiko - A poor man's Rolex?
Review of Seiko Chronograph by tomhughes78

Advantages: high quality, looks good, durable, good value for money
Disadvantages: have to replace the battery now and again

I received my Seiko chronograph watch as a present for my 20th birthday from my girlfriend (very generous, particularly as we had only been together 4 1/2 months at the time!). She had decided ages before that she wanted to get me a watch for my birthday so that 'I could think of her every time I checked the time'. Although it seemed like a very grand gesture at the time, particularly as we are both students, I reluctantly agreed although only on ...
...budget. Id always admired Seiko watches, but I had never considered getting one before, presuming that they were too expensive. However, one particular watch in H Samuel caught my girlfriend's eye. I have to admit, at first glance it didn't look very me. Id always considered to be a 'round face' kinda guy, but this particular watch had an almost square face. I reluctantly agreed to try it on, and subsequently fell in love with it instantly! The first ... Read review

The watch to end all watches...
Review of Casio Pro Trek Triple Sensor by peterkinxl5

Advantages: Arguably the best looking mens watch ever. Large clear display, Solar powered,Enough functions to keep you informed/amused forever.
Disadvantages: Not G-Shock nor Atomic clock (via radio signal) contolled. You certainly need instuctions here as well.

...watches in the past including Casio G-Shock, Citizen Eco-Drive Skyhawk Titanium,Seiko Automatic (an old one) and several more basic Casio models. It is in my opinion an absolute triumph of design and style. A large clear display and easy to use-once you've checked out that instuction manual. One thing which is very important is that the Altimeter readings etc are a guide.Don't rely on them for critical measurements. The watch is good....but not ... Read review

Batteries not included? No problem.
Review of Seiko Kinetic by alexscott

Advantages: Requires no battery, titanium versions available, glowing points and hands
Disadvantages: Losing the pins can be an issue

I have wanted a Seiko watch for a long time. The brand and designs just ooze quality and stature. It's no wonder I won't wear anything else these days. It's important for my job that every second is accounted for, and with the Seiko kinetic titanium watch I have is perfect, drifting only a second over a period of months. Fantastic, from a watch with no battery! The 'kinetic' mechanism I thought would be a gimmick, a back-up with no actual use. ...
...with proper adjustment by the jewellers. I recommend Seiko for their designs and their prices, as well as their features. if you see a style that you like and you can afford it, go for it. Get the kinetic auto-relay ones if you can, they are worth every penny. ... Read review

Built like a rubber submarine
Review of Casio G Shock by buster_uk

Advantages: Very Tough, Virtually impossible to break
Disadvantages: You just try and change the battery

G-Shock +Introduction Well Casio produce the G-Shock (and Baby-G) range, very well i might add, was first made in 1983 with their fist model, the DW5000C. Each G-shock watch was originally made to meet the 'Triple 10' criteria, which consisted of a 10 Metre Fall (shock resistance), 10 bar (100 m water resistance) and 10 years use. It was made so that it could fall in any direction of 10 metres and survive the impact, not just the outer shell, but ...
...Both watches are made by Casio but the first is made for the male market and the latter the female market, albeit their advertising campaign unlike Yorkies only for men, does not prohibit women from wearing the male version, nor vice versa. Both watches are made to an unbeatable high standard and for their usuage and general quality they come at a pretty decent price. +The Strap The straps come in a variety of different styles usually material/cloth ...
