Do the replacement water pipes increase usage?

Advantages: Meters are normally good
Disadvantages: Cost

They replaced the pipe in my west London road a year ago. I have a water meter. My annual usage has been constant for years. Suddenly my metered consumption is up 80% this year. Has anyone else had this? Why do I have to write a 120 word review? Not very good Ciao They replaced the pipe in my road a year ago. I have a water meter. My annual usage has been constant for years. United Utilities

Advantages: I won
Disadvantages: A lot of hassle from the big boys.

United Utilities are an appauling company, and I would go as far as to say ringing the Zoo would get a much better response, I have spoken to about 30 people at UU and they are all lacking in manners and intelligence and try to pass the blame to anyone but themselves, my window was cracked by shoddy work directly outside and the guy who checked the work outside my house tried to blame the accident on a pot hole some 15 yards away from the problem, ...
...the fact that they did this I would class this as a GUILTY act on behalf of UU. I was about to pursue court action against them and asked for a director's name and email address, as I thought it was only fair to let a Director know what was happening before they got a court summons and hey presto they have agreed to pay up in full plus a little compensation..........it just shows when you think you are in the right don't be fobbed off no matter how ...

Letting off steam!!!!!!!!

Advantages: Water is free
Disadvantages: Fleeced

...Like Thames Water, Anglian are pushing meters on their customers, whether they need them or not. We have had above average rainfall over the last 18 months here and we don't see the need for meters to protect supply. And these meters won't be cheap, some companies charging up to £150 to have them installed. Measuring usage would push up prices radically for an average family and some households would have to pay up to £200 a year extra on meters ...
...a commodity that is still in plentiful supply right now. There is no drought in the East of England and it hasn't stopped raining for 10 months. Try telling the people of Gloucester and Sheffield that there's no water about. Another mechanism they hope to introduce is to force people onto direct-debits. If you don't go on to them they want to charge you extra for your bill. That's not fair in anyone's books. I'm sure it saves on their administration ...

Review of Anglian Water Services

A Drop in the Ocean to Them

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: Flippant Customer Services, No Follow-Through on Problems

Owing to the fact that Three Valleys Water are a water supplier, the only aspect one can really review is their customer service given that their actual product is a basic one of supplying water and universally the same as any other suppliers. But boy do I have a few pages to fill about their customer service… Sat in front of me is a water bill splashed colourfully in pink by Three Valleys Water demanding the sum of £4,874.29. This bill states that ...
...didn't. My dealings with Three Valleys Water first began in June 2006 when I took over the tenancy of a small 2 bed flat for myself and my baby. I rang Three Valleys Water to inform them that I was the new occupier about a week after moving in and was told that the account would be transferred into my name; I was led to believe this was a simple process that I needn't worry or do anything about. Then about two weeks after that I received a bill ...

Water Palava

Advantages: Clean, cheap, safe - what more can I say
Disadvantages: No choice for tap water at the moment

United Utilities – The former North West Water supply customers from Crewe to Carlisle and over to the North Wales border. I have lived in both Liverpool and Manchester and my water has always been fine to drink from the tap and I never had any problems with drainage or blocked sewers though I know someone who has, they seem to have been dealt with in a quick no messing about manner. I cannot think of many countries in the world where that is the ...
...and my family who live in VA. buy bottled water. The company advertise that their service costs typically 60p a day and I don’t think anyone can argue that is not bad value for money. Arguably a family who take a lot of baths use the washer and dishwasher a lot, use a hose on the garden or have a pond or a pool are going to pay more if they are on a meter but then I think that is only fair. I am not on a meter and pay £18 a month or about 50p a day ...
