I decided to buy this product because it was cheap and I have heard so many people say that waxing is the best form of hair removal.
What did I have to loose by giving it a go?

************PRODUCT DESCRIPTION*************
This product is a pack of eight waxing strips, that can be cleaned and re used, for up to five times. The strips are white in colour, with a blue strip down the middle, which is the wax. Each strip is coupled with another, meaning that when you pull one out of the box, you are actually pulling two out! To separate the strips all you have to do is pull them apart. As you pull the strips apart, you will notice that the wax is very strong.
There is no need to heat the wax strips unless you want to. The recommended way of heating them up is to hold them between the palms of your hands for a few seconds. It is not recommend that you heat them any differently or for any longer than a few seconds.
It never occurred to me that wax strips would smell! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the packaging and was greeted with a strong aroma.
Normally, I love smells, but in this instant I have to say it was very perfumery and very overpowering.
Upon handling the strips you will notice that the smell sticks to your hands and it seems to stay there for a long time. I also noticed that if you happen to handle the strips and then not wash your hands before touching your mouth, there was a very strong perfumery taste as well.
*******************EASE OF USE*******************
I found the strips very easy to use. All you have to do is peel the strips to separate them, and warm them if necessary. Place a strip onto the area you want waxing, which in my case was my leg, and smooth it over so that it sticks to your skin. Leave it for a few seconds and then pull it away, quickly, in the opposite direction to which you hair grows.
I did notice that some of the wax was left behind once the strip had been removed, and I would suggest that you rinse it off straight away, as it is very sticky and very smelly.
I have never seen this product before but I bought it from Bodycare for the price of £1.49.
******************EFFECTIVENESS****************
Does this product remove hair?
Yes, but you will need to have a decent length of growth for it to have effective results. If you only have a small amount of growth then the wax will not be able to stick to the hairs.
Does this product hurt?
Yes. Call me a baby if you like, but I did one strip and then shaved the rest! I did attack my boyfriend’s hairy shoulders with them though.
Where can you use this product?
This product can be used for hair removal on the following areas:
Legs Armpits Bikini Line
Do I recommend this product?

**********RESULTS ON MY BOYFRIEND**********
My boyfriend has a small amount of hair growth on his shoulders and from time to time he asks me to pluck them out for him. Instead of plucking them this time I thought I would try out my new product on him and so I applied a wax strip to each shoulder and waited a few seconds before pulling them off.
My boyfriend tried to be brave and show that it never hurt, but when he thought I wasn’t looking, I saw him rubbing frantically at his shoulders, as they were stinging.
Straight away I noticed that he was left with a solid red mark on each shoulder, the size of the wax strip. I told him that a little redness was to be expected but when he complained about half an hour later that his shoulders were really hurting I decided to take another look at them. They were bright red and looked very sore.
He said they were hurting more than he thought they should be and so I applied moisturiser to his shoulders and thought that would be the end of it.
Four days later, he was still complaining and when I took a closer look I noticed that some parts of his shoulders were actually red raw. Of course this faded over time and about a week later there were no marks and he told me I wasn’t allowed near him with them again.
I put his reaction down to him having sensitive skin and so I progressed onto my legs!
*****************RESULTS ON ME*****************
Unfortunately my reaction was not much better; in fact I would go, as far as to say that the effect the strips had on me was worse.
I applied one strip to my leg, waited a few seconds and then pulled it off. I am not a baby and I never normally have reactions to anything, but as soon as I removed the strip I noticed that I had places on my leg where the skin had actually come away!
What I saw stopped me from carrying on.
I had a strip on my leg that was red raw and skin missing and within an hour I had bruising. When I say bruising I don’t mean just a little bit. The pain was terrible for a couple of hours and nothing I did helped. In the morning, I took another look and was shocked by what I saw.
My leg had a strip that was still red raw, blood had seeped out from where the skin had been removed and the bruising was black and purple! I had a normal leg with a strip the size of four inches wide by about six inches long, covered in blood and black and purple bruises.
********************MY OPINION*******************
I do not recommend this product to anyone! I used one strip on me and two on my partner and I have now thrown the rest away. I am really disgusted at the effect that this product had on my partner and myself and to be honest I am actually thinking of contacting the company to inform them of what happened.
As for waxing…it has definitely put me off.
A word of advice though for if you do decide to use this product: Do not go straight to the bikini line! If it had this effect on my legs and my partners shoulders I don’t even want to think about what it will do to your bikini lines!
Advantages: Good grip on hair. Useful for touch ups. Disadvantages: Can be messy and time consuming, painful.
...write about my experiences of Wax A Way, being a recently converted waxer! I first tried waxing with immac waxing strips, but found they didn't grip the hair very well (bikini line)and left quite a few stranded hair screaming "remove me! Remove me!". I found this disappointing considering the price. Then I thought I'd try a cheaper version, when shopping in Bodycare and discovered Wax A Way strips. They were only about £3, so I thought I'd give them ... ...as with any waxing. The wax is less gloopy and messy, but when the wax does get on your fingers it is hard to remove. HOWEVER.......
My view to be honest is that waxing STRIPS are a waste of time and money if you want to do a big area. I think I would only recommend them for touch ups, because I found that a pack of strips would just disappear! If you're worried about the pain, well what do they say???
NO PAIN NO GAIN. But only do it if you're ...

...few months ago using Veet wax strips, although I found them very effective and easy to use I found them quite expensive, so I decided to try Wax Away Bodyworks Wax Strips because they were on sale in savers for only 1.59 for a pack of 8 strips. Each strip comes stuck to another one so once they are pulled apart they create two waxing strips. Each strip is white with a stripe of blue wax down the middle.

Although this product is as easy to use as any ready to use waxing strips they are not as effective. They did remove 90% of hairs but they also removed some skin as well, leaving my poor legs sore and blotchy for ...
