Great first cup, non-spill, with room for improvement.

Advantages: Non-spill, has interchangeable handles for CTN Bottles.
Disadvantages: Non-secure safety lid.

...I have been using the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature bottles since my first baby, and I was extremely frustrated I couldn't find handles to fit them, like Avent have for their bottles and cups. I wanted to encourage my daughter to self-feed herself a bit more, but she couldn't get a grip on the bottles. Now I have 2 of the cups and it's great to get the handles onto the bottles so she can drink her milk by herself! Very handy if you are rushing around ...
...cups themselves are very good, I have encountered however a couple of niggling issues. Nothing to put me off them, but definitely things that could use improvement in my mind. ic To start with, the lid is tricky to get on, and does not stay on well. This is the clear safety lid that goes over the spout, not the cup lid with the spout itself. It is shaped with a "bubble" to fit on top of the spout, which makes putting it on a bit faffy, it won't snap ...

We used the wean machine from when we started weaning my litttle girl and still use it now. The machine has 2 levels of puree - and we are now on the atachment with the bigger holes. Everyone who has seen me using this cool wee gadget have commented on brilliant it is. We have found it to work better with fruit rather than vegetables. It is really handy when out and about as you can puree fruit quickly and easily for your child. I found that many ...
...some fruits are a little reluctant to be mashed by the wean machine - plums and mango being the worst. We love this gadget and has made weaning really easy for us. The fact that the mashed fruit remins in a incorporated bowl, means no having to carry extra bowls etc. Also the pulp of the fruit stays in a little compartment and doesn't spill over everything. Best of all it is dishwasher safe, so cleaning it couldn't be easier. All in all a fantastic ...

Excellent Elmer gift

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

When Baby B was christened we were bought so many gifts it was amazing to see just how thoughtful and generous people were. Mrs B and I spent a good half an hour opening presents whilst baby B watched on making sure she didn't miss a thing! One of the presents we were bought was this Elmer the elephant gift set and when we opened it both Mrs B and I said "Oh wow!" What is it? It is basically a spoon, a cup (with two handles either side), ...
...design on all made from plastic so it is ideal for young children. What does it look like? Elmer the elephant is a children's story character. Elmer is a big friendly elephant made from patchwork so as you can imagine very colourful! Elmer has big squares of different bright colours all over her body and this makes her stand out to children as she is so bright and colourful. These bright colours and friendly design have been mimicked on ...

belting beaker for babies!

Advantages: see review
Disadvantages: see review

...beaker. We tried a tommee tippee explorer beaker which looked very complicated with it's valve inside and it had to be taken apart and each time bit sterilised each time. We thought it looked great and scientific with the valve so it must be good... sadly it wasn't. Baby B was not impressed with it and couldn't seem to get used to it and it was just fiddly messing around with putting the valve back on each time so we decided to go for another type. ...
...saw that this 'first cup' was recommended from four months and so thought it must be more 'little baby friendly'. It cost us £1.50 which is a bargain considering that Baby B's bottles are £5 each. The beaker has two nice thin handles on each side so it is ideal for baby's small hands. Baby B is able to get a good grip on them and likes to have control over the cup so these are great little handles. The lid snaps on really easily, you don't have ...

Steady as a Cup!

Advantages: Gives your child a greater sense of independence at meal times.
Disadvantages: Unfortunately it can still be thrown as far as a normal cup.

I baby led weaned my son at six months of age which is currently the guideline in the UK for when to wean your child onto solids. I was also eager to wean him off his bottle and teach him to drink from a cup as early on as possible, so I introduced him to a spouted cup soon after introducing solids as this seemed like a good time to train him in the use of a cup. It is best to wean your child off the bottle as early on as possible, as drinking from ...
...believed that it can slow down speech development. ‘Sippy’ cups (spouted beakers) are no better than drinking from a teat, so it is best to try and use an open cup as soon as possible. Once my son was confidently drinking from his ‘Sippy’ cup I decided to remove the lid, however removing the lid from his spouted beaker did inevitably mean that he ended up wearing more of his drink than what he actually drank. I didn’t mind the wet T-shirts and spills ...
