Just ordered some blinds from web blinds. The company didn't provide screws or plugs to install them into ordinary plasterboard and wasn't even able to advise as to what I needed. Their advice: take the blinds to a DIY store and ask them for advice as to what I need. I find it extremely disappointing that the company doesn't provide the proper materials to fit the blinds in a very standard construction material; the notion that having spent several ... ...store is somewhat bewildering to me. The attitude of the company's helpline when I raised this issue was also quite unhelpful. We went with this company because they were associated with Hillary's but I really wouldn't recommend this company at all now for all the hassle this is causing. Advantages: Quick service Disadvantages: Wood samples bear no relation to what you get
I ordered several samples of wooden slats for venetian blind. Carefully chose the shade I wanted. So far so good.
The blind turned up when they said it would a week later. This is where problems started. The blind had been made in a shade that wasn't the one i ordered. 1st customer 'service' person told me that perhaps the wrong label had been put on the sample. Said he'd send more samples. They arrived. But I've still not got the blind I want. ... ...them but don't reply. Was told the samples cou;dn't really be relied on for any accuracy, 'as the wood doesn't grow in those colours! What's the point of samples then??
Was asked to send a piece of the original sample - I did this. Still no blind, nor a refund. Am still chasing the up and will be reporting them to Trading Standards very soon.
Wouldn't recommend them to anybody. I'm sure they're good if you get what you want but haven't a clue about ...

...sites. We came across Web-blinds.com and they were just what we were looking for.
They do a great range for vertical, venison, roman, and normal roller blinds. All came is a large select of fabrics, designs and colours.
There is a great page where you can enter the measurements of your window and it will calculate the cost of the blind, by style and fabric.
Another page allows you to recreate your room, in our case the bedroom, then experiment ... ...are very simple online instructions on how to measure your window, then how to place your order.
They allow you to order swatches of material, we ordered five in all. This allowed us to compare them with our current décor before making the final decision.
Ordering was simple, you could even select what day you wanted delivery, also AM or PM. For a small charge there is a Saturday delivery option.

I had been thinking for some time about wanting roman blinds for a small bedroom used as an office and metallic-looking venetian blinds for the bathroom. I was very unimpressed by the offerings at the usual DIY and home-furnishing stores, none of which seemed to offer a made-to-measure service.
I first came across web-blinds because of a competition at ShopSmart, in which I won £300 to spend!
The web-blinds site is really very good and the swatch ... ...venetian blind and a roller blind) was serviced rapidly and accurately. The on-line forms asked for specific accurate measurements, and they sent out high quality products to the exact specifications.
Some pages on the site are a little slow, because of the time taken to load images of all the different fabrics etc, but it hard to see how this could be improved. My only other grumble on first looking at the site was that the prices seemed high but, ...

So I took a look on line and found www.web-blinds.com They sell all sorts of blinds. You can get swatches free within a day or two and they'll deliver your finished blinds in 5 ... ...measurements you give them and they've got hundreds of colours and patterns if you prefer that sort of thing. I have nothing but priase for this company - easy to use website, great product choice, great quality products, prompt service and a phone line if you need any help. What's more the instructions for how to fit the blinds were easy to follow too! ...
