Cheap Price, packed with many goodies
Review of MSI StarCam 370i by nikolas_syrimis

Advantages: Features MyGuard, Effects provided, Easy to get used to.
Disadvantages: Problems installing on Vista, Hassle with CD

...camera and it's quality. The MSI StarCam 370i allows you to take pictures in the sizes of 640 x 480, 320 X 240, 352 X 288, 176 X 144 or 160 X 120. It usually has a 30 frame per second recording rate but it can be altered in the options. When the web camera caming it in unique packing to fit it's moveable neck, the first impression I got which I said aloud in my head was, "Dude, sweet!" I took out the webcam, and found inside a CD containing all ...
...I went to put my CD in the CD drive of my Microsoft Vista laptop and found that I also install a thing called MyGuard which is a program that can be used in work situations, e.g. if you were playing flash games when you shouldn't be, or at home, say if someone was coming up behind you trying to sneak on you. I then went to install the StarCam 370i driver for the laptop. I found that since I was using a Vista laptop, I incurred a few mishaps whilst ... Read review

Tommy can you see me?
Review of Creative WebCam Web camera by tazorii

Advantages: Cheap, user friendly web cam
Disadvantages: no longer supported by Creative

The Creative Web cam. I was truly amazed when I found out that 'mini-spy' cameras were available for the general public. I don't recall when I first heard about them but I was aware that they were about. I was more aware that Porn sites used them. This way people could have a (pixel 'ly') look at some Russian blonde play with herself in front of a web cam (at great cost). Probably not the best reference I could give but this is, as far as I am ...
...use (honest). I chose the Creative web cam because it is a Creative product (no pun). Creative really are the best products you can buy quality wise and they are always very well priced. Neat packaging with all the relevant details on the box, such as recommended specs. This web cam came out for Windows 98. At the time it required very little in the way of performance and was of course USB. The installation, like most USB products is very simple. ... Read review

Good entry level web cam.
Review of Logitech Quickcam Pro by PJHilder

Advantages: Build quality, Good picture, Built in Mic, Can be used with a camera tripod.
Disadvantages: Picture quality suffers in low light.

This came to me as a prize from a well known UK internet magazine. However I feel I would have still bought this web cam had I needed to purchase it. ***Build quality and features*** The cam is well made and has stood up to much abuse. Atheistic wise its silver and dark grey features, coupled with its bulbous eye make it look like a proper web cam. One nice feature is the camera will fit on either the enclosed two stands for desktop and laptop ...
...with an old tripod to get some extra flexibility on where I positioned the cam. The cable that attaches the cam to a USB port can be a bit inflexible at times making it hard on occasion to position the cam exactly. There is a focus ring on the front and a button on top to take an instant picture and a built in mircophone. ***Installation*** Installation was easy enough. Make sure you install the software first then after it has rebooted plug the ... Read review

Just what you need for video calls
Review of Logitech Quickcam E 3500 by senaiboy

Advantages: Clear image even in low light, vivid colours, wide viewing angle, great webcam software
Disadvantages: Spherical shape (cumbersome for laptop users), backlighting compensation can be improved

...to the product at hand, Logitech Quickcam E 3500. Honestly, when it comes to webcams, it's either Logitech or Microsoft that are the popular ones. Unfortunately I don't have a Microsoft webcam to compare it to, so this will be based on my experience with this Logitech webcam alone. 1. Picture Quality and Capture Rate I guess most of all one would like to know how good the quality of the picture seen on the webcam is. Glad to say that with the E3500, ...
...is just like any other Logitech webcams I suspect. Setting up requires a brief installation of the webcam software provided, and after that it'll be just plug-and-play. 7. Value for money I bought this at a promotional price of £14.99 from PCWorld, so for me I think it's worth every penny spent. Conclusion: Frankly, I bought this webcam with very high expectations (no less from Logitech!), and I am glad to say that I am now a very happy customer. ... Read review
